Keep It Real | Eric Thomas Sermon

It's time to be fully transparent with God. God is moved by honest expressions of our feelings, cries and prayers to Him. Observe the transparent journey of Hannah’s turnaround when she kept it real with God.
“Stop settling! Stop being where God doesn’t want you to be. Enough Is enough!”
7:02 - Luke 18:9-14 shows us that God will humble the proud and exalt people who humble themselves. Everyone has fallen short of the Glory of God. It is in our acknowledgment that God can make significant changes in our life. Comparing our situation to someone else’s in a proud way can cause you to be humbled by God.
13:34 - “Don’t suppress the truth or what hurts. It affects your body and your mind.”
23:20 - 1 Samuel 1:8-17. We can never control the actions of other people towards us. But if we discern the situation, we can see that it was ordained by God to happen. The pain and frustration of being teased, made Hannah go before God in ways she’d never done before. What appears to be Satans trap is God’s setup if we allow it to be.
23:53 - “Go in peace. And May the God of Israel grant you what you asked of him.” 1 Samuel 1:17
Factors Hindering Honesty
1. Fear of the opinions of the church community.
2. Individual pride or ego. Secrets are damaging!
3. Cultural influences.

1. Pray in anguish! Come before God with total honesty.
2. When depending on God to bring our prayers to fruition, we should pray in anguish with all our soul. The time spent in prayer will build your belief, trust and focus on his word.
3. Believe what you asked God for by showing actions in worshipping, and continuous fervent prayer.
