Beautiful!.. I have the Airfix Saturn 5.....I saw Buzz Aldrin speak for an hour here in NZ in 2010 about his experiences ON the Moon... thanks from NZ 👍🇳🇿

Thank you for sharing. I got the chance to view a rocket launch in 2018. Incredible experience. I shared a pretty cool montage of the trip to my page.

The Escape Tower is on top. The Command Module (Columbia) is below the Escape Tower. The Service Module (the part that blew out on Apollo 13) is attached to the bottom of the Command Module. The LEM (Lunar Excursion Module renamed LM, called the Eagle on Apollo 11) is in the bay below the Service Module.

Apollo 10's callsigns were "Charlie Brown" for the CSM and "Snoopy" for the LM.

I hate to say it, but I spotted a painting error of the S-II. The black band near the bottom needs to be up higher, at the top of the stringers. I'm not a rivet-counter, but to my mind, that's glaring. Glad I ordered the assembly kit.

Nice model. The Bandai 1:144 Saturn V is better detail.....but it $1200 and small. This is huge! Despite minor inaccuracies. $400. A bargain! I bought the N-1 Moon Rocket from Russia.......but it kept blowing up! Go NASA! Go America! 1:72 is a popular scale. But not for huge models. It’s basically a battleship...only vertical.

Why would you say the lower fins of the Saturn five should be silver I’ll have to go back and watch the launch again I know I’ve seen it 1000 times and I always remember the lower fins being white

Do you know where I can buy a Dragon, Saturn V rocket, 1:72 scale?

Where did your wife order this from? I've been trying for a while to order the 'painted' version, with no luck.

It was got on ebay from, Germany. I so far haven't seen any more news on the reissued painted kit.

If this is the “new tooled” April 2020 re-release then I already see errors that Dragon didn’t correct. Otherwise it’s the 2013 inaccurate display piece (not a model kit because it’s already assembled and painted).

No this isn't the re-release. Hoping to see the new April 2020 to see if there is much of a difference

I'm surprised for such a detailed model no LEM is included. For the price would expect a complete system.

There's no CM under the LES-BPC either.

Apollo 11, not 10 if one of the first moon landing.

"Beautiful model??" You need to get out more. The out of the box Dragon model is exceedingly inaccurate, and will remain so without extensive modifications (in my case, spending too much $$ on after market 3D replacement parts- right Charles?) Dragon already redid one major screw up after the original relase (the 3rd stage, the S4b outer texture) without correcting the many badly detailed other portions. And now, they keep delaying release of their same (1/72nd) scale Saturn 1b kit, which, if as inaccurate as the Saturn V, will not have been worth the wait....
