Currently I am using M7 rr on my svartpilen and alpha h1 on my 390 duke. These imported tyres are in a league of their own. I have ridden my 2 bikes back to back on the same road many times and the thing that stand out about the M7 is the grip and how easy it is to change direction, the effort required to ride fast on the m7 is much less than the h1. The only let down is the short life. I am tempted to get the rosso 3 for the duke but i am held back as my yearly ridding has reduced to almost 2k kms.

Hey... Thanks for sharing this with us. Yea... Metz, Pirelli and Michelin are in a league above. But they have also become quite expensive. Tvs, Apollo and other Indian manufacturers are some good options. 😎

So I've been using Apollos on my fz25 and they are great for someone who used stock MRFs for the most part and even I've used them for 17500 kms. Now since I got used a R3 the fz25 will be used by my brother who doesn't cross 60 so I got a pair of Ceat zoomcruise plus and god the difference is immediate, the tyres simply don't inspire even 50% of confidence from Apollos, now I am looking forward to get a pair of TVSs for the r3 but let me take this opportunity to tell that changing tyre sizes is as good as sprocketing and affects acceleration, top speed, odometer reading everything and it's even more pronounced on R3. To reduce these differences and get close to stock I've bought 42T rear(JT) and a stock 14T(Esjot) front sprockets and a DID vx3chain. This is because there aren't any stock 140 section w rated tyres available so the only option was to go for a 150 section tyre and cancel out the difference with a one tooth lesser rear sprocket from ninja 300 and even then it's not completely back to stock, there is still a small percentage of error above stock. And apart from all these there is a small looks factor I've noticed when changed the fz25s tyres back to stock, the 150s do look ever so slightly wider especially after they've worn out and gotten flatter on the sides.
@HighwayToHill5 күн бұрын
@mohanprasad998 Hey thanks for taking the time to post. Quite insightful. It's unfortunate that a 140 section W rear size isn't available. Apart from all that ypu have mentioned, the height also reduces from 24.7 inches on 140 to 24.1 on 150 section. After the stock Metz at 140 on R3, the only other 140 I used was the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2. Stuck with 150s. No option.

The center is still alright though, and I think I can get 8000km out of them if I stop cornering and just do casual highway touring. I heard the Alpha H1's mess up the handling of the V3 a little due to their stiffness and weight, but I am yet to test and confirm this, but their advantage is they last twice as much as the Protorq Extremes.
