A small disclaimer; for the rotationally inclined of you out there, I am aware the Earth is spinning in the wrong direction. I didn't realize the error until I was long past rendering the animation, and given that it's a rotating 3d model it took a good 7 hours to render and I was a little too far into to re-render. So it'll be a little easter egg you can all roast me in the comments for :)

How this video only has 119 likes is beyond me. This is one of my favorite ambiance videos I have ever seen. The radio chatter, the mission references for Apollo 11, the rotating Earth, and the chord progression, it is so well done. That progression from 24:50 and on is so good! I am in my Masters of Space Studies, writing an essay on space topics during my studies and this has saved me countless times get into the mood and grind them out. Thank you Lithograph, I look forward to seeing what else you come up with! You are extremely talented, keep up the amazing work!

Absolutely. I went on a huge space kick while making this and bought a NASA hoodie and also pre-ordered the Lego Artemis Space Launch System. So I'm hooked at the moment. My buddy says I have to play it slow and not do a bunch of space themed ones in a short period of time but I kinda can't help myself at the moment ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

love it! BTW i tihnk the world is spinning in the correct direction - I'm from the UK but live in Australia so when its morning in the UK its ahead 10 hours in Australia ! great work

The way it's currently spinning would put them 10 hours behind you :) If it's turning night in the UK around 7pm your time, it would still be another 10 hours before it got dark for Australia. And the globe spins counterclockwise when viewed from the north pole; here we're spinning clockwise. I had a 50/50 change of setting the correct y-axis direction but unfortunately didn't even think about it until way too late, lol.

The other easter egg is how far north this landing site must be. Earth was nearly overhead, rather than on the horizon, for all the Apollo sites. It'll be wild to see views from the rim of Shackleton Crater in the south, though.
