I have just over 800 KMs on my Go at this point and I love it. I too have issues connecting my phone to it. What I have noticed is that if you are waiting for the app to connect and you are on the dashboard tab, you can go to the settings tab and then click on the scooter. By the time I do that, it is either connected, or I just press on the connect button and it connects from here 100% of the time. I am going to file a support ticket to let them know this. They must have different code paths through the app for connecting and the one that is triggered from the scooter settings page works perfectly whereas the one from the dashboard is flakey. Given this, I am sure it is an issue that can be resolved.

That’s good to know. I used a clamp mount on the rubber grips to get some different video angles but didn’t have enough room for my hand. Will take a look at it again tonight and see if I can get my handlebar extender on the inside part of the rubber grip. I guess the rubber grips double as dampeners for the mount haha!

So you’ll need something that is 43mm in diameter to go around the thick part of the handlebar. Haven’t found anything in that size. Sounds like @hiddenequality might use an extender with a single mounting point on the right hand grip. I just tried using a Rockbros bike handlebar extender and can confirm it fits around the rubber grips. Unfortunately that puts the mount points to the ends of the extender bar and isn’t perpendicular to the handlebars due to the mounting points being too far apart. Sounds like a single mount point is the way to go if you’re okay mounting it on the rubber grips.

@tomsgadgetgarage
@tomsgadgetgarage 4 ай бұрын
So 44 miles is the range using the most conservative settings, meaning Eco mode at 6mph with minimum acceleration. It’s really not a realistic figure, more of a theoretical range. The 20-30 mile range is the most realistic. For me at 205lbs, the most I’ve gotten was just shy of 20 miles. I can squeeze out more if I reduce acceleration intensity and speed, but I prefer a zippier ride.
@saulnpepa5699

Yeah, if your commute is more than 19-20 miles round trip then definitely look at another scooter. My daily commute/use in Chicago averages about 8-9 miles so range doesn't matter to me at all so this scooter is absolutely perfect, especially since I have to carry it 3 flights of stairs. That being said, I just got it so can't wait to put it to the test.

I wonder if the next iteration could have the ability to go into single motor and I wonder if that would improve range…rear indicators were great until you see them in daylight so I think they need to be brighter and perhaps a transparent plastic cover would help too. Perhaps the hydraulic front suspension from the Segway G2 would work better also. So impressed with the stem lighting as most scooter front lights are shocking! All in all as far as a V1 effort goes it’s a great effort even with that price tag 😀

Great review--thank you! My previous scooter experience was on rentals, the Lime in particular, but I bought the 2024 Apollo Go. Go is faster & quicker than the 2024 Lime, but the Lime is smoother, more comfortable, and more stable. The Go wheels are tiny for portability, but it’s a bumpy ride and not very comfortable. The wheels take literally five strokes from the Joe Blow bike pump. The Go won’t fit in my WRX sedan trunk, unless I leave the trunk open. It’s very tight. The Go fits in the back seat of my car but it takes the full length of the seat. I’m not sure if the City or Klima would fit on the back seat. The Go fits easily in our Impreza hatchback, and it could easily hold two The deck of the Go is a bit cramped and I find myself shifting my feet around frequently on a one hour ride. The Go climbs small hills well, and large hills slowly. I live in the mountains. Battery drains quickly for 195 pound rider at mostly full speed, but it lasts a long time at more comfortable speeds. Dot Matrix display needs trip odometer and clock. Definitely room for improvement on the display. I don’t like it. Quad phone mount is useful but I don’t like fiddling with my phone. Excellent production quality & shipping Unit arrived from Best Buy in two days, perfect shape Very good help desk response over text & email Good printed documentation for setup Decent smart phone app for settings, but could be simplified. Good assembly video on KZbin. Easy & exciting setup. I never want to be a scooter mechanic and Paul @Electric Scooter Review scored the Go 9.2 out of 10 for maintenance. This was a big factor in my purchase. I like the scooter but wish for longer range and a smoother ride, without sacrificing portability. I want it all! Now I’m thinking I might go with electric bikes if I had the choice again.

Thank for the detailed feedback on your experience! Like you, I’m also not interested in repairing scooters 😂, so I definitely appreciate the minimalist design approach with the GO. I appreciate the follow up video of the Apollo Go. Your videos have help me narrow down my choice of which scooter might be best for me. The Apollo Go is now on my short list. One criteria I do have for narrowing down my search, is the availability of parts for the scooter. Especially when it comes to finding the right tires for the scooter. Do you know if Apollo keeps parts in stock to help us maintain your scooter? what is the best source for tires? I did a quick search for the 9" tires that would fit the Apollo Go, and not a whole lot of choices were available. Actually, no 9" tires sowed up in my search...only a lot of 10" tires. Is there a go to source for scooter tires that anyone knows of? Thanks!

Hello! So it does appear they have spare parts available for the GO here: apolloscooters.co/collections/accessories?filter.p.m.custom.model=Apollo+Go+2024&page=1&sort_by=best-selling. I’m glad this is part of your research because it’s surprising how many scooter companies have little to no parts support. I was actually surprised how many parts are actually in stock for the GO. I don’t see tires just yet, but I do see them available for other models so it’s possible they are coming soon. Good news with the GO is that it has puncture resistant self healing tires.

Thanks for the additional insights. I just ordered a Go a few days ago since they were having a Memorial Day sale for $100 off. I settled on the Go after doing a bunch of research including watchin some of your earlier videos which were very helpful. This will be my first owned scooter (I owned an Unagi Voyager for a few weeks before returning it just to see if my 10 mile commute was doable with a scooter. My main issue was going over bumps on some of my route, so I'm hoping the Go makes that a non-issue (at least compared to the suspensionless/hard-tired Unagi). I can't wait to get my Go, and I'm hoping it doesn't take three whole weeks like it did for you!

@@tomsgadgetgarage I have seen some people put the handle bar extension over top of the grips. The clamps for the bar extension are placed on the grips, right up against the throttles. I have considered doing this, but I just don't know how it will affect my ability to use the throttles since my hands will be that much further away from them. Hey Tom, thanks for the recap on the Go. I love the idea of this scooter, I just wish the battery was 10s4P 720Ah, instead of a 10s3p 540Ah. I just don't have a use for a scooter with the Go's battery capacity although I'd still love to justify owning one. I see that ESG weighed this scooter at 49.2lbs or 3.3lbs more that advertised, just curious if you've weighed yours. It seems to me that Apollo could have used a larger battery and 10" tires and still come in under the weight of it's biggest competitor, the Segway Ninebot Max GT. To my mind, it would matter if it was 48lbs or 52lbs, because it's already massively lighter than other dual motor scooters. For my travel scooter, I ended up going with the VMAX VX2 Pro GT, because it's almost as fast as the Go, 45lbs (tested) climbs hills just a touch better (according to ESG hill climb times) and regularly provides 32-34miles of range and up to 42miles at a 13-14mph cruise. No suspension of course, which seemed like it would be a big deal, but when I took it to San Diego a couple of times, I just felt free that I could go where I wanted to without fretting the timing my next charge. I would still by the Go if they offer a "Max" or "GT" version in the future, however.

Hey hey! So I didn’t weigh the Apollo GO previously but I just took it into the garage and I’m showing just shy of 48lbs and the Max G2 at 54lbs. I’ll have to see if another scale says something different as I’m using an older household scale. I’m curious if there were any differences between the pre-production and production models. The VMAX definitely looks like a nice ride with lots of range. And I agree I think it would be awesome if Apollo made longer range version of the GO. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall during the design and engineering discussions when companies plan out a new scooter. I’m just hoping to one day have a 30lb, 30mph, and 30 mile real world range electric scooter.

Alright, finally got a digital scale and weighed the GO. Mine actually weighs 49.38 lbs, so 3.38lbs heavier than advertised…that’s a lot different than 46 lol. I’m going to start weighing these things moving forward.

@Patriot36 3 ай бұрын
@@tomsgadgetgarage Haha! Oh my goodness. Well, that's an impressive difference between advertised and actual and something I suspected based on two other reviewers actual weights. But like me, I'll bet it doesn't make one iota of difference to you purchasing or owning it. You still would have purchased it at 49.38lbs.... and I would still purchase it at 53lbs with 720Ah battery and 10" tires. It's still way lighter than anything in its dual motor class and I love that it edges out the KQI's and VMAX's at by a couple miles per hour top end. My fingers crossed for a larger battery version of the GO.

The GO is significantly lighter so it’s going to be much easier to transport in buses and trains. It also packs a lot of punch for a sub 50lb scooter. To put it into perspective, I have some larger scooters that I don’t take when running errands because they are just too cumbersome to lug around. I also avoid locking my scooter up anywhere, so it’s basically coming with me in the store. Much easier to do with a smaller scooter like the GO. The Lighting on the GO is also top notch. Nothing quite compares to it. If you’re needing more than 16-20 miles of real world range, the City has the advantage. As for making a video on the City, I’d love to but likely won’t be able to do so for a while. Need to get my hands on one. If it were me needing to lug it around on public transport, I’d take the GO.

Couple things I’ve noticed though is that their leadership team is always on social media and answering questions and addressing issues, and two, they offer upgrade kits when they change things on their scooters from one model year to the next. Most other scooter companies ownership is a mystery, aside from Nami and Roadrunner. And very few places offer the ability to upgrade components to bring you in line with the newest releases. Most want you to just buy a new scooter if you want the new bells and whistles 🤣.
