3D models provided them a way to make interesting characters much more easier. They also have more freedom on camera control, or doing things in their court. Those long, long confession animation, and the victim POV mini game in 6. 3D isn't bad, as long as they're still manually alternating the movements and face expression, I think!

I actually really enjoyed this game, even if it might have had its flaws. But really, which game doesn't? Everything was so fresh with new characters, furnished art and a lurking mystery of what happened to our previous protagonist. I simply love how everything and every character tied into the story so naturally and because of it, Apollo Justice will be a game I will always remember and cherish as one of my favourite Ace Attorney games or games in general.

You can't just postulate and say your theory as a fact without backing it up with citations or evidence. And as to why AJ was bad (for me, subjectively), was because of the massive amounts of illogical plot elements. The only case I genuinely liked was case one of that game. Case 2 was standard but boring. Case 3 had so many logical fallacies that I would list them out but won't unless asked because I'm on mobile right now. Case Four has you traveling through time and although it is just a simulation of what would've happened had you shown evidence at certain points in time, it is by no means a concrete way of proving anything because again it's a simulation and any evidence or dialogue presented by crossing the timelines will not and does not hold up as a solid argument because it's, again, just a simulation. And furthermore I would've been OK with

+SeriousMcnegative Phoenix Wright being a mentor to Apollo Justice had they not taken away his badge. Wright loses his badge two to three months after the ending to Trials and Tribulations. Trials and Tribulations ended with an immensely satisfying ending with everybody's character being really well-developed. Phoenix was set as an amazing attorney in the legal community but AJ takes that ending and craps all over it by taking away his badge and making him a crappy piano player/secret poker player for seven years in which he was under financial duress for not having his badge and for having a new daughter to take care of. There is no mention whatsoever of Phoenix's friends coming to help him out and it's not even implied that they helped him out in anyway. In the end, it wasn't the fact that there was a new protagonist that ticked me off (I actually would've rather not had Phoenix Wright be directly in the game at all); it was the fact that the story was so unredeemably bad.

NippleToaster I don't agree. I think the story of AJ was edgy, dark and it was actually ripe with mystery and compelled people to play it. Phoenix's crazy life isn't going to just stop because Maya gets on a train, is it? He still has people to defend. Plus he still was an amazing attorney - the guy's considered a legend in AJ. I think the mentor role suited him and if he didn't lose his badge, Capcom would have just strung him out over as many games as they could, which would have hurt the series... oh, wait - they are already doing that! Phoenix losing his badge was a good thing, Phoenix adapting Trucy and maturing was a good thing, Phoenix mentoring the next ace attorney of his time was an awesome thing.
