I don't understand how summit works. So you either get voted in or you play your way in? How come youre able to compete in one of the biggest competitions through a popularity contest instead of everyone earning it through battling?

I think they wanted it to be so anyone who is really close to making it into summit but just missed out multiple times can get in, ie if someone got second at multiple super majors then they might get votes from people thinking they deserve it. However, that doesn’t happen and it’s mostly just content creators. The idea would work if pro players voted on who got the vote in spots as they would vote for those who deserve it.

@@silverjeyjey4054 Not every top player can make it to every qualifying tournament or some may even fall short for whatever reason, vote ins is just a chance to get more players in that didn’t already qualify for whatever reason. This year happens to be more “popular” people because it’s the last summit, but majority of the time it’s more top players or up and comers who couldn’t qualify

yea but summit aint really a tournament for the best 16 players in the world, it's definitely more for a super entertaining weekend with matchups we might not see otherwise. the qualifying path would be a lot different if they wanted the best 16 players in the world, there are tournaments already for stuff like that

Light got sick so he got late replacement and hungrybox played the system but still a majority of the players were invited based on their preformances in majors, or directly off their rankings.
