So many comments to address ... lets start with answering a few things. My account is my original that I built myself for better or worse. As much as I wish it was funded, rented, acquired in any other way than how i built it, it is not. I pvp'd a long time with r10 2 stars before the awakening changes. After those changes it was no longer necessary to run fully built 2 stars for my builds so my resonance grew since I was no longer holding myself back to preserve the internal awakening bonus. In the first game we see I was maybe 4th biggest account, Roche and Norman are both bigger than I am. The second game st8 and ikki are both much much bigger and make my account look pedestrian. Regarding mmr and why I'm in a lobby with that comp. It's the end of the season. Players that don't regularly queue are queuing to make a last push so it throws everything everywhere. I assure you I'm used to being the smallest player in a lobby at 7kres , 7kap . I still know how to navigate myself around in that situation which, if you were in those lobbies with me you would know already. Why I said what I said has nothing to do with not understanding the role of a support cc wiz and respecting it's impact, clout chasing with my peers, mad that he got the mvp badge, jealous of his youtube channel or thinking box scores and kill counts are the only evaluation of good play. It has everything to do with exactly what I thought was happening. You can see it in both of these matches. As to why I was "crying" over a win, look a little harder and understand how close that win was to being a loss. It nearly timed out. The fact that some players are trying to normalize his play style as being what every support wiz does is laughable. We are highly competitive in the NA east and the good support cc wiz do not just walk up barely close enough to the idol to drop a skill rotation on it ready with a full complement of tele to run away. Maybe on defense and only if it's a full idol. With full health and tele they position to do 3 things on attack. They are either trying to pocket cc their teammates that are fighting ahead, they are trying to create a wall for the players trying to walk it or they are creating a barrier to walk it themselves. I'm the last player that thinks he should be tanking on idol but to make the effort what, once. . .twice ... maybe? to actually put that cc support where it was needed is where my criticism lies. I actually had to rotate and support both left and right to win that 1st game. If you notice in both games his cc support side was not the side that locked the win. In fact he's so out of touch with how wins happen that he thought he lost the 2nd match and didn't notice ikki and st8 walk the right idol straight up the lane. And no, I don't have the answer to stopping a mid 8k tank monk being supported by a 9k dh. I appreciate that many see the same things that I do and have explained it here as well. The NA east pvp heads all know each other and you can call it toxic that I'd call him out but this is for every player that puts themselves on the line every game doing it the right way.

I've been nothing but nice to you. Even during the match, I didn’t say anything toxic about you. In the second match, I clearly stated that I have no ill will against you, but what you said at the time didn’t make any sense. I did my job as a wizard, playing with 4.5k Reso in a 7-8k Reso lobby. Sorry to break it to you, but you made mistakes too and allowed the other team to target the backline, to the point where I had to stay on my toes just to stay alive. If you think that’s inaccurate, look at the end result at 8:48-everyone else was dying, even stronger players than me. If you don’t like my playstyle, that doesn’t make me a bad player. Your statement is null and void based on the season stats at 16:40. My build isn’t only focused on CC freeze, but on applying DoTs to the enemy team. Unlike other wizards, I don't Eletic Scorch, and prefer the Helm ( increasing the tick rate of DoTs), So I try and put my skills on top of my teammates, giving them support when they get attacked, but I can't do much if someone run to far ahead, I stay behind. But let me make one thing clear: You were the one who asked me to post this, and it clearly shows that I played my part in a lobby of players much stronger than me and performed better than most of the others on the list. However, you chose to target me, likely because you or your group of friends don't like me. There were players who got much worse result but you called me useless, so whatever you will say, nobody is getting fooled.

I'll concede that my words were harsh and I could have used more tact. I am sorry and yes you have been nothing but kind. I did ask you to post this and you did which I absolutely respect. As far as you mentioning your build and what you use I was never critical of it. In fact I think it is intelligently put together and you showcase a good template that leaning into an angle allows a player to punch upwards. It's a strategy of building that players should replicate, especially the smaller accounts. We will have to agree to disagree when it comes to your playstyle and it being effective. It's not your job to carry at your res in that lobby but you need to get the dots ticking or the cc started earlier in relation to the idol. I singled you out because as you pointed out players bigger than you were dying. They were dying because they were trying to push that idol forward standing in the middle of the fights. You had 1 death . . . And it came because I stopped supporting left and Norman broke through to get you. The sheer fact that I was holding Norman off of you when he's way bigger than I am should say something to you. The old adage of early game DI, don't die at all cost doesn't hold weight with current game mechanics. As an aside have you ever been in or seen a match with all wiz and dh on the attack side and they out kill the defenders 2 to 1? Say like 67 to 30 but they lose. They lose because every one of those players played exactly how you did so the idol was stagnated.

@@OctoNaut-e9w I've been in all sorts of lobbies, from top players in NA-East to lower-tier players, including DHs, Barbs, Tempests, etc. I adapt my playstyle depending on the team composition and the lobby's resonance level. In lobbies like these, I focus on staying alive and being aware, making it harder for others to get to me. Sometimes, people get frustrated and chase me, which distracts them from the objectives. However, if I were in a lobby with 4-6k-rated players, I would play much more aggressively, as it would be significantly harder for the other team to kill me. In this game, mistakes were made around 5:44. We were very close to pushing the idol, but the other team had around 6-7 players defending, while we only had about 4. Everyone jumped on the idol and died, forcing us to start the final push again. If we had waited a bit to regroup and continued fighting, maybe killing 1 or 2 players from their team, it could have been a GG right there. But mistakes happen, and it's no one's fault. At the end of the day, it's just a game. I know I'm not the best Wizard, but there was another wizard in our team 7k+ reso and the person was last on the list at the end. But its fine, there are worse things I have heard from others. But anyways GG dude.

With a main wiz i can feels what people think about us😅 some player just want to go with beauty KDA in match, and they never understand why they can get easy kill and easy match. If they win, they will feels they can carry all dumb teammate. Lose ? They will blame who have the most poors KDA I win alot of game with KDA 0/1/25-30, and always hear about this if this game lose. I was recording it and was going to post it anyway; he just made it spicier, which helped get more attention from people like yourself. During the whole video, there wasn’t a moment where I got angry. Instead, I found it funny because it was content for me. So there’s a big difference between what you're saying and how I reacted. It would make more sense if I had gotten angry, but I didn’t. Instead, he got used as content.

Im bonespy, that octonaut is my buddy we been playing for a long time. He is a good player, can dominate player stronger than him if they r bad. He recognize player with game and called out bad player. If you havent figured out why and still believe you were playing good becoz ur mvp had a good kda on those matches. Ill explain why. first any wiz or range class can get those score hiding on the back line. The real players actually winning you those matches are those playing standing on the idol or player killing them before they can get to one. Second, during second phase as an attacker, the cc wiz job is to zone out player, basically u want to drop the arcane wind in front of the walking idol so they get freeze before they can step in the idol. NOT on the idol You basically freezing them while they r standing inside. If you are defending sure you can do that not on pushing. 3rd as wiz that build is Meh, you only had 1 dmg skill u drop then u will run wait for cd. I Challenge you to play the build against bot and post it. Tell me how it goes.

Octonaut is a good player, but a crybaby. He whines when you dont predict what he expects you to do. Whale complex without being a whale. If anyone who plays bgs with any degree of skill and strategy watches Apollyon ( especially in the match Octonaut was crying about ), that was textbook wizard gameplay. @apollyon - ignore the haters and battlefield generals.

Playing same game mode for 2 years and some player still dont understand that idol dont move if theres opponent standing on it. So your job basically to stop them getting to the idol not keeping them there.

To bonespy's point, move your CC to the front of the idol and it'll help your team much more. Keeping the opposing team CC'ed on the idol stops it from moving when you really want it to keep moving forward. Best play is to keep them off the idol whether that's on defense or offense.

I have played alongside and against Octo for almost 2 years now , he is a great pvper and he is very consistent on winning games. We have had this pvp map for almost 3 years, nothing has changed other than knowing what and how to win for your team. I’m on Octo’s side regarding on game 1 as far as you playing bad. As you know, as a wizard you shouldn’t be on idol much and you should instead help provide cc for your team when needed. In this case, Octo has cleared the way for you and his other teammates on the left side. Instead of pushing up with him and chasing kills, you should have stayed on idol to help progress the match and it would have ended sooner. You were wasting your skills on 1v1 engagements Octo had under control instead of acknowledging that, you wanted in on the action that in return was stalling the victory for you. It’s constructive criticism.

@@rickolution I mean, you can rewatch if you want, but I'm not sure there's any particular value in it. The point of view is from a wizard who put up decent stats playing a fairly standard wizard game. You don't really have a consistent view on anything else. This is diablo immortal, not some competitive fighting game, if you're "good" you probably have a reso/secondary advantage over your opponents and generally stay on task. Could Appolyon have been a little more aggressive getting stuff out ahead of the idol, sure, but I also generally question the clear the way strategy that a fair number of more aggressive players employ. In reality it should be clear the idol, then go out ahead and intercept incoming enemies to maintain that walk for another few seconds, cause it's the walk that matters, and the walk doesn't happen if the idol isn't clear. Way too often the aggressive players run all the way up the isle and end up with decent kill numbers on a bunch of 3 to 5ks, but miss the fact that the opponent's 8 to 10k barbs are ignoring them, going to the idol, and stopping the march, or have been behind them the whole time. Octo could have been fine in this game, you can't really see. He was about as deadly as you'd expect in a group with that reso and secondary composition. But a barb who dies 9 times and gets the two badges he did means he was dying on the idol, and every barb death on an idol is seconds toward the end of that walk. Barb deaths are really an offensive stat.

@@stealingfire1991that's still my day one account. The changes in the game structure meant moving up res makes more sense. Nobody funded anything. I'm not alone as most of the 4kish to 5k players of that time that were running multiple 2 stars are now 6k to 8k. There's no longer a reason to run 2 stars unless you are angling a build structure like dots. As far as who's the real mvp and if dikdik did his job he absolutely did. He committed to walking the idol. Regarding clearing a path/being aggressive vs trying to normalize the stay back wiz playstyle, you can't deny there are wiz in our region that understand playing back is not the way. They know they have to slow or burn people down before they hit the idol. Not just big wiz either but little ones, much smaller than Apollyon. Lobbies with bigger players almost never get kill count wins. It's probably 90% or higher timing out. So what does that mean? It means you have to do whatever you can to start the undying cycles of barbs, or saders to bubble, before they get close to the idol. That way when they get there the amount of time they eat up is lessened by a significant amount. Until the player meta changes this will hold true which also means standing way behind the idol and only casting on idol and nothing more is not as helpful as players want to believe it is. Had he been casting in front of it. Starting his cc and or dots earlier I'd have nothing to say but as it stands you can see this wasn't done watching the game play and subsequently the idol he's fighting around stalls the moment I rotate out.

@@OctoNaut-e9w I think getting stuff down ahead of the idol is good, but ONLY if the idol is clear. I think one of the most common mistakes people make is shooting up the sides to intercept people coming to the idol when there's already enemies on the idol stopping progress. Idol clear should always be the priority because if it's not clear, it doesn't walk, and if it doesn't walk, you lose. I can't tell you the number of times I'm sitting on the idol with one or more 8 to 10k barbs, and I look up and see multiple blue dots playing all the way down the opposite end of the isle or hanging around the defenders' spawn point. They may be driving up kill numbers against 3 to 6ks, but the other team's big dogs are behind them. If I'm a barb, and I usually play barb, if there's one or more opponents on the idol with me, I want my support wizard dropping all their freezy arcane wind stuff right down on top of me. If the opponents die before I do, I can heal on the front of idol, my undying rage can refresh, and that idol walks the whole time. Another side to this equation, is as a whale barb on defense, I'm ignoring the players ahead of the idol and just getting on it. They may be able to delay me for a second or two depending on my build, but I'm going to get there, and if they continue to play ahead of the idol instead of dropping back to kill me, they've made a mistake. I always find it amusing on defense when I heal on the opponents' idol and there are red dots up the isle or near my team's spawn. It's bad play, and it happens more often than it should. I'm not saying you did anything wrong in this game. Your team won, so everyone played well enough to make that happen. But as a support wizard, if there's someone on the idol, Apollyon should be dropping his damage there until it's clear. I think ahead of idol play is good once that happens, but no matter how much anyone tries, guys always get on the idol. If there's anything that made me cringe a little in the video, it's the quickness and frequency with which he would drop back to heal, but since I don't play wizard that often, I don't have a great sense for how quickly you go from seemingly fine to dead.

The problem I see is you're running away too quickly. why would you run away from a fight when your 75% health? when your that high of a res and cant play aggressive without dying, you gotta switch class and carry your res in matches. If you cant play without running away as soon as the fight starts you gotta leave pvp and stick to pve.

There isn't any problem; you're just nitpicking or have no idea how the wizard is played. The end result of the match makes your statement null and void, and my overall stats for the season speak for themselves. So, maybe you should stick to your class if you don't understand how a support class is played without getting killed and being annoying on the battlefield.

You ran to the spawn burning all your teleports when that monk came, why not switching to the other side, pick health pot and support there? You dip from the fight too fast when you see 10% hp drops and abandoned peeps on your side, I think you can use the teleport skill smarter and stay on the fight, you did good with the Cc.

That's clearly a very simple reactive gameplay and that's why you see most wizards go 2-10 playing exactly like you said. That's how someone with 0 game awareness plays. Wizard you got to preemptively move lol, If you get someone on you, It's too late. you are dead. He played his role. It's not his job to facetank people and the idol. His team won and got mvp both games, but you find something to nitpick.

@phantomb no it's a passive way. I'm not the one calling him out. I just think he can be better and running away with pretty much full hp as soon as the fight starts is not the way to win. If u think he's the reason why he won you're mistaken. Especially for one of the high reso in lobby. Your reso should help you live longer unless you have crap secondaries. In that case you should also stay out of bg.
