I hope he can learn from this. I was actually a channel member of his as his older videos were more silly and fun. But he seems to be kinda spiralling for a while. I got worried when noticed he was uploading so much as every time he goes sicko mode on the low grade but frequent uploads he crashes and puts out something like this. I do believe he really cares about his npo and helping but he has frantically gone completely sideways with this sabatoging his own efforts. Its just sad.

Also I just want to add I appreciate your approach as even though you don't agree with him on some stuff took the time to see the nuance in the situation. I feel it could be helpful for other people who have similar inappropriate ways of navigating situations to evaluate their own behaviour even if it doesn't help Jake in the end. I have empathy for Jake but this really bothered me and makes me question his mindset. He needs to learn how to properly talk about his npo, regulate his emotions and not post so much as it clearly stresses him and doesn't help his views when his community is being spammed almost with so many videos. I am more leftist but I dont think you being conservative takes away from what you have said. One minor correction is whike Jake is left leaning I would not call him bread tube. He doesn't make political commentary essays or philosophy stuff. Doesn't break down leftist ideology, I'd put him in commentary and comedy more than bread tube. Just like some channels I watch I know are center or right but don't consider their content conservative commentary as their videos are about other stuff

The weirdest part of that apology video to me is him discussing people claiming his disability is fake and defending himself. Like yes, I think that is completely valid, but it should have been a separate video. If you keep your apology short and sweet, and let the injured party do most of the work by calling you out and explaining grounds for them to forgive you, there's barely any effort and it will tend to work with a fairly reasonable person. (In situations where you do have to articulate what you did wrong, its different, but as soon as you specify, its the same again.) If you describe things as a bad situation that you make worse, you're failing on the key part, which is convincing everyone involved that you'll do better, and giving yourself a chance to do so. No one will respect you if you make excuses, or accept excuses from other people. And, for another thing, if you pat yourself on the back for an apology, especially if the "sorry" was beaten out of you, and especially if its not even good, its going to come off like Tony Soprano telling Carmella should be thankful he broke it off with the russian girl. And, just like he had more goomahs and people will see your behavior as a pattern that will continue. If the structure of your apology is part of the habit the apology was meant to address, its a step in the wrong direction when it should be a step in the right direction.

Thing is though, if you try to do good, and you do wrong in those efforts, it can be really confusing. Its good that you're fair to him, and I think a thing to learn is to be patient with someone who struggles to apologize properly. I've seen a well received well done apology from him, and it just seems this sitation being more significant and more complicated, among other things, makes this more difficult for him than the OrangePeanut thing.

Imo he really does care about his nonprofit, but in order to do one you have to have some money to start it and keep it afloat. I think if he had started it out as a business like selling merch and then turning it into a nonprofit, maybe would’ve worked a little better. I used to watch his videos a lot, but they were usually silly. Then I stopped watching him maybe two years ago.
