SPOILER bringing Max back alive ruined the emotional weight of the scene
@Intothemind
@Intothemind 2 жыл бұрын
@@JS-pn4tj was still ugly crying tho... that's the strength (and maybe weakness for some) of the series, they make you care so much for all the characters and build such incredibly emotional moments, that when they show you someone may have died you're utterly devastated, even if you learn after they didn't (happened with Hopper last season). Also this scene/song combined with Eddie (really) dying was like a 2-hit gut punch. So well-done and acted.... RIP the legend Eddie.

@@JS-pn4tj Exactly. Its cool that shes alive but i felt like all the emotions that eddie and max dying at the same time put me through were felt for nothing. It was still a heartwrenching scene but el just magically reviving her kinda jus made me think "really?" Max dying there woulda been a big wake up call to realize how cruel vecna truly is, and to prepare even more for what was to come because nobody is safe going forward into s5.

It was great in Stranger Things. But in the Sopranos, that episode with Tony's dreams, it resembled a great sense of loneliness and perplexity, and is still to this day one of the best uses of a song in a show or film.

This is in my mind the best standing out episodes there is, in the sense that it is completly seperate from the main plot and yet so interconnected with the inner state of the protagonist. A few years back there was some 4chan or reddit post about some dude whose cat brought him a mouse. It wasn't dead yet so the guy made him a little bed and tried to get him better but it didn't work. As the mouse was dying he apparently played him this song (he added the link in his post) then buried him in the yard. There aren't actually that many comments about it on THIS video, but other unofficial/lyrics/ whatever videos for this song it's like all people talk about, they've never heard of The Sopranos or Stranger Things, and they're pretty damn sad about that mouse haha.

Man, it’s not evitable, we are gonna die some day, we don’t know how, we don’t know. Enjoy every FUCKING day as the last. I lost yo many people over the 2 last years. I was far from them. It’s painful to thing all the moments that I could spend with them. But I cannot revive them. I have to accept that they are gone, in peace.

My father passed from covid, in the hospital, after a 8 week fight being on the ventilator. As the days pass, the weight to join him grows heavier, and the strength to keep holding on continues to fade. I fear the darkness that’s waiting for me is growing stronger, reaching out to gently pull me down into the void, and i won’t be able to resist anymore. Nothing is as peaceful as letting go, the struggle and suffering fading to a distant memory as the fog of life evaporated into a mist of the spiritual transcendence that awaits.

You're not alone. There are moments when the urge to sink is stronger than that of swimming; however, if we give in to this urge, what of those who follow behind us? Would they, too, let go? And what of those before us - would they want us to abandon all hope? This pandemic has been crushing, but try (hard as it may be) to remember all of the things that make life worth living. Love, for instance. There's a great quote I came across from another stranger about those we've lost: "Instead of lamenting their own deaths, they'd implore us to forge ahead, knowing that both the memory of them, as well as their legacies, are in good hands."
