My mother stayed because of us. Beaten by her brothers in law. Cheated n countless times by my father. Pastor my mother is my father's only legally married wife. But she stayed and received disrespect from the countless women my father brought after her. Yet she took in all the children. My mom was emotionally tortured. But she stayed...but she developed a heart condition. Has gone thru many surgeries. This is a very sensitive topic and truly every relationship is diff depending on why people went into it in the first place. My dad eventually died regretting all he did but my mom is never the same. She wasn't even allowed to work. But society saw my family as a great one but we had our inner battles. My mother is a hero...I pray God sustains her and my my daddy rest in peace

Keep praying ooo, so that you don't end up raising broken children, who thinks that abuse is a way of life. Who thinks they can't stand up for themselves in the face of abuse. I was 18, he was almost beating me to death and my 2 year old son screamed mummy in tears from the door, that was the time i knew it was over. I didn't want to raise a son like my ex husband, I left with my son, and I am glad i am raising a boy with soft spot and cocience.

My neighbour beat his wife to death a while ago, her 3 children were split (the youngest was only a few months old the oldest 8). If she had left that marriage, maybe she would have still been here and her children would have been better off.

I have just one daughter who hates her father. She and her siblings want me to divorce their father cos of the stress they see me go through to sustain the family, pay All the bills without a dime from their father who is toxic n not appreciative .....but I stay in the marriage for their sake cos I don't want a broken home....sometimes...I wonder if I am right to stay....
