How to manage distributed cashing into Application Insight !!

Why can't you use the ILogger to write to the application insights log?
@clouddeveloperio3 жыл бұрын
Great question @ntxmike, one reason to use the TelemetryClient directly is because it allows you to make AppInsights specific calls that go beyond simple logging such as tracking Page Views where you can provide details about the page or a function that is being invoked. This comes in handy in scenarios like Function Apps because you are trying to log things from a "End-User" consumption perspective even though it's really a server side function instead of having to rely on Errors or Traces to build out your dashboard in AppInsights.

Can i also get a status of the function from app insights? I need to know when a function has stopped running.

For some reason i only get live metrics. Theres nothing in transaction search. instrumentation key is correct. Anyone have any ideas?

Figured it out! my problem was that my app insights was "resource based" and not "classic". hope this helps someone. i was pulling out my hair for weeks lol

Thanks for making this video. Is the sample code on Github somewhere?
@clouddeveloperio3 жыл бұрын
No, sorry because the code is pretty simple and I didn't think it would be of any use to post it.
