Oh my days - this is something else. Having now watched through twice (at least), it is absolutely brilliant. The “Applause” number itself would have been worth the price of a ticket - those nods to shows such as Follies, Chicago, The Desert Song, Hair, Kismet, Promises Promises, Carnival etc etc - absolute genius!!! I think it should be law that EVERY City Center Encores production receives an official cast recording. STUNNING! Thank you for posting - absolutely may my Day/Month/Year ❤

In the original production, the "Applause" number at Joe Allen's gave nods to the shows: "Hello, Dolly!", "Cabaret", "West Side Story", "Rose-Marie", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Oklahoma", "Oh, Calcutta!" and "Mame". 🙂

I always liked this score but felt that the marvelous Ms Bacall was simply miscast. Carried by a true singer like Ams Ebersole it is a complete revelation and shines as it should.

I love how Megan Sikora plays the character Bonnie ( 37:21 ish) in honor of the original Bonnie Franklin. The character was named after her, when she left the show after a year, Leland Palmer replaced her and the character was named Leland.

Ebersole is one of my favorites and I had the great pleasure of working on a show she was in XX years ago [I don't want to age either of us]. Having seen many Encores productions since it's inception, I know that these are not full-blown productions but her outfits are just horrid.

I'm 65 and I played the album over and over - not the greatest score, but I frickin loved it! this was fun....but the EVE???? not all about her. but thank you encores for another wonderful concert revival!!!!!
