Apple Adventures Episode 3: Detour with Powerbook 165

The PowerMac G3 can't work with AppleShare 3.0, so I have to bring in another Mac: The PowerBook 165.
I also set up the PowerMac G3 to assist with re-installing System 7.5.3 on the PowerBook 165 over LocalTalk/AppleTalk.

Some form of did make it to x86 Macs. You have to use either FireWire or Thunderbolt, or a FireWire to Thunderbolt adapter, not have FileVault on, and not have a boot firmware password. The iMacs also have a Target Display mode, that turns them into a simple monitor.

You would think there would be a passthrough adapter for that Disk Transfer SCSI end that simply didn't passthrough the not needed pins.

I haven't found anything like that, but it would better sense than having to buy two cables.
