Most companies use plastic bc its durable and weighs WAY LESS,(they've done research on it), so that if you keep headphones for a lot of time you dont feel it Xm4 destroy these for way lower price, even xm3s which arent much different from xm4s They are no match against xm headphones,say whatever you want
