Hi there Andrew, I love this one too. It's extra special served warm with caramel ice cream. I did consider sprinkling the top with demerera sugar before baking. I think that would be nice. That looks amazing. I have made apple cake before, but not the with chunk size of apples you are using. I need to get some granny smiths and try it. Although I am a bit lazy, so I envision me adapting the different ingredients into my stand mixer 🍸

Makes perfect sense Peter. If I made it again, I would add a sprinkling of Demarara sugar just before baking to give a sugary top. Would also highly recommend serving it warm with a generous helping of Caramel ice cream...👍

Hey there John, 180°C for this recipe is in a non fan oven. I believe it would be 160°C in a fan oven. ..👍

@@MargaretsMakeandBake many thanx. It was actually me asking the question on my husband’s iPad cos mine was upstairs and I was halfway through mixing. I’ve only just seen the reply. Luckily I chose the non fan option. I used an 8 inch tin which took 48 mins before a toothpick came out clean. I used chopped pecans on top. It looks and smells delicious but I won’t taste test it until tomorrow when I share it with my mother and sisters over a cuppa and a natter. I’ll let you know the overall verdict.
