I love huel, i get it all the time. Lived on mostly huel black shakes of different flavours for 2 years. Two shakes with two scoops a day, then a proper meal for dinner. What i will say is use a blender or hand blender in a jug first rather than just shake it or you end up with powder lumps. I also use milk instead of water to make it thicker and creamier. (Some of the flavours aren’t that nice with water but with milk they are some of the best complete food shakes out there) If anyone in the uk has had chocolate porridge or chocolate readybrek, the chocolate huel black tastes like that. I recommend chocolate, cookies and cream, strawberries and cream, cinnamon 😊

Yep. Apple Vision Pro is on a another level, kind of like how we went from corded phones to desktop pcs, to analog wireless phones, to flip phones, to smart phones. - I can imagine air traffic controllers and the military will find the Apple Vision Pro useful to show many screens simultaneously that are 150-400 inches each...that's a lot of information. - Current F16 figher helmets are $400k each with just a HUD, whereas the AVP could be incorporated into a helmet for far less than $400k. - Infantry soldiers wearing a helmet with the AVP. - AVP's passthrough is 120 degrees which allow real world interaction with the firearm, target, throwing/catching. - I want to get the Apple Vision Pro, it's not that expensive compared to a great home theater, and people don't realize that it's got eye tracking (no mouse cursor), an 8k screen, many many 300 in screens, 3D camera, spatial audio speakers, creates an Imax or the biggest commercial theater screen size even when you're sitting in a tight coach airline seat. - the eye tracking (replaced a cursor) is a game changer. - way easier to develop than Facebook Quest. - AVP is not constrained to a box game model like the Quest, instead the AVP world model is infinite. - air traffic controllers can see the perspective of a commercial plane pilot landing. - The AVP's many many virtual 150in-300in screens can replace a commercial airline cockpit's many physical screens, and that physical space can hold more important physical equipments.

Sadly I have to agree, with no 'Stand Out Feature', it is amazing and the best Visual experience I have ever seen. But for $3500 with nothing more special than one that can cost under $600, it's just not worth buying for the average consumer

Sorry, but 4k for an accessory is an instant no-go for most people. The problem is with the people making the decisions having lost any contact with the ground a good while ago. How are folks earning dozens of millions of dollars a year supposed to even remotely grasp the concept of affordability? You could probably charge them $50 for a latte, and they wouldn't notice. It's all chump change. Mind you, we're talking about the same geniuses who thought it was entirely reasonable to charge $999 for a monitor stand and $699 for a couple of casters. They've simply lost the plot.

Contrary to popular sentiment, IMO the move here for Apple is actually to continue developing AVP as is. A high spec product. A minor price drop over time with scale and volume sales can be considered. The issue is not there AVP is too expensive as often posited. The issue is time. Everyone including the FPT crew per this video seems to want an Apple tree to spring up overnight. That only then can something be considered a “success”. The time issue is that this is a long play. It may not even be that VR goggles will ever take off beyond being a niche product but that it provides momentum into AR or whatever comes next. The Oculus is cheap(er) but no one’s rushing out to buy one or wishing it for Christmas. Price is not the issue. Time is. As WWDC has shown, the phone is going nowhere. So called “AI” products have shown to be DOA. Whatever Altman and Ive come up with is not going to be sure fire either. If anything developing it with Altman is IMO actually a liability. The boy is taking the straight train to being the next Zucks. The phone is Apple’s cashcow. It doesn’t need AVP to be anything that’s a mass sales hit. If there is to be the same urgency applied to a product, that would be HomePod. There are many pieces in place that would feed into making that line amazing. But Apple needs to put in muscle and focus into it

I agree the cost is high and the weight is an issue. However, I can see the Vision (pun intended) of this product. This will replace the iPhone, the laptop, and AppleTV as we know it. A cheaper $1,500 version will be great, but figure out how to transfer the quality into a light sun glasses version will change everything.

The main and only reason i’d want a vision pro for - unlimited screen real estate for working on my mac. And i would pay upto 1300 (or price of a high end display) for that. Essentially vision pro should only target gamers and professionals who need a lot of screen space to begin with. Then maybe it evolves into something more.

I love my Apple Vision Pro but just like the Quest, I don’t really use it. I used it A LOT more when I had a MacBook, but I traded it in for a new iPad Pro since I preferred having something more portable. Once I pick up a Mac Mini or Studio later this year it’ll probably be used daily again. It feels like the ultimate companion to a complete ecosystem, but loses a lot of value without a Mac. I’ll get the cheaper one for sure, but I won’t ever get rid of my first gen Vision Pro. They missed the mark with a really cool product, hopefully it’s all up from here.

$1600 would be a great price for an entry level headset whose compromises will hopefully be very acceptable. Having said that, in a couple of years, there will also be better economies of scale so it will be doable. Apple can also simply upgrade the chip in the current Vision Pro with an M5 and keep the price the same and not have to called it. Vision Pro 2.

And that's ok. They spent 10 billion on a car and scrapped it. It's not like they learn nothing from these ventures. They are trying things, failing, improving, and moving tech forward. Just like every other tech company but on a larger scale. Google Glass anyone? Microsoft Zune, Amazon Fire Phone, Twitterpeek, Google Nexus Q, Juicero, Oakley Thump...the list is endless. It's just easier to get impressions if your target is Meta, Apple, Google, or Samsung. These are brands people love so criticism of them will always drive engagement.

I see Apple problem is they are too used to makin products that people use most the day everyday. VPro is something people at beat will use a couple hours a day for the trypical user and $1600 and definately $3500 is a lot for a casual use product. Apple is stuck because the R&D costs to make a prpduct like Apple wants needs a $3500 price tag. Last the VPro release hasn't got a army of developer creating apps for it. They seen the small market for VPro and say we'll wait too. Could this be another Apple newton situation. With Newton Apple saw the Palm Pilot PDA that was new and selling like crazy. They made a large and expensive device with some cool software, but the public prefert the small, inexpensive Palm Pilot. For Apple the death of the Newton brought about the iPhone. They made a PDA like device and add a phone and rest is history. What can Apple turn the VPro into????

The issue is that, outside of niche uses, there is no use case for a VR/AR headset. It’s trying to make 3D TV a thing all over again. Even a cheaper version will still just be a poor-selling toy that will sit on most people’s shelves and take up space. Apple keeps trying to sell 10 different consumption devices and wonder why people aren’t buying.

This strategy with the vision headset was silly tbh - they should have started with the lower end model - especially seeing that it’s taking them 2 years now to work backward to the lower end device

The platform at the moment is just not worth the effort for developers to build for given the really low adoption because of the stupidly high costs

With how immature the APIs are, the lack of apps and barren content landscape. I’m not sure starting with a lower end model aimed at a wider consumer base would be better than what they’ve done

Apple = the PERCEPTION of luxury. They can't sustain that image if they first launched with an average headset that costs $500-$1,000.

@@kekchanbiggestfan That's actually a bit counter to what Apple's common strategy is. This seems like a failure to follow through. The Vision Pro looked priced to be the unofficial dev kit that they could also get the enthusiasts to try. By releasing it to the wider audience with a low price, it would have lacked a lot of features AND had nearly no apps, so it would have had zero reason to get it over something like a Meta Quest 3, which is my go to headset right now even though I loathe Facebook/meta. The price to features of that headset is incredibly hard to beat.

I’m not a fan of the AR/AV concept fad at all, but it makes sense for Apple to start at the high-end to get it into the hands of developers, so that when a lower end model comes out there is enough content to make it worth it for normies.

Unfortunately the vision pro was really not much more than a fancy demo. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the quest 3 can do nearly everything the vision pro does and more for literally a seventh of the price. If visual fidelity is what you're after, then a Varjo xr4 is even better than the vision pro. Hell, that new headset from China even has better specs than the vision pro for a cheaper price.

What if they: Make it out of aluminum with an integrated battery, and a regular M4 chip not that ridiculous overkill for “Spatial Computing” If I can run full VisionOS in an Xcode simulation on an M1 MBA, obviously you can do it on M4. Also I have a Meta Quest 3, Metaverse sucks.

Who is going to pay $3,500 for a VR headset? Also, who is going to pay $1,600 for a "cheaper" headset if that rumor is true? Is Apple out of their minds? They need to make a sub-$600 headset and market it and build it for what makes sense right now - gaming. Pay all the devs or popular games like Beat Saber and so on to port their games over, then pay them to make exclusives for their headset - and for goodness sake, make controllers for the games. Besides that though, I'm sorry, but until this tech is miniaturized even more people aren't going to use this for office work or walking around town

I mean look at what other companies are doing with AR glasses in the $400-800 price range... Apple fucked up trying to make this such an Apple device... Make them like normal glasses that depend on your iPhone for most functions, price them at $500 and you have success.

Part of the failure could be that every bit of advertising for the apple vision pro seemed to be targeting exclusively african americans. Is this group who Apple imagine will be their primary customers. Or perhaps Apple took DEI to the extreme and excluded everyone else in their advertising. DEI is very exclusionary.

What I find amusing and annoying is how the Vision Pro received so much coverage but it's Meta that is making all the money and impressing investors with their cheap Meta Quest headsets. Meta rode Apple's Vision Pro headset all the way to the bank. Apparently, Apple doesn't fully understand when a product costs too much for consumers unless they weren't the intended target group. I don't know how many AVP units were sold or if they're considered a failed product based on low sales. It seemed like an interesting product but I was more interested in an AR device styled like eyeglasses. I suppose very few people have bought AVP but many more have bought the Meta Quest which seems to be getting plenty of favorable news media coverage. A tough break for Apple.

people expected ray bans like Facebook, not ski masks; its about as dumb as how they keep avoiding a Mac OS iPad which was late to the party by M1 already. Or a Dex version of iPhone 5 years ago.

Released in a single country, quite expensive, first gen product, doesn’t directly solve a problem. Not a failure in my opinion. People in China are buying it in loads, now that it has been released there and some other countries. . . What I do consider a failure in this product is that it’s based on iPadOS instead of macOS. I don’t want an ultra expensive piece of entrainment device. Let me have an expensive work machine instead with USB ports and desktop level apps.

You’d think a trillion dollar company could foresee this. The $3500 is and forever will be insane and idiotic, especially when it doesn’t have a clear case for usefulness. In order to even take full advantage of it, you need a MacBook. which makes it just a glorified expensive monitor. People make the argument that it’s for devs but then look at how it’s doing poorly and affecting their future plans. Which means they DO care about the trash sales. They included too many unnecessary things to make it more “premium”, shit that the end user doesn’t care about especially when it comes to user experience and critically comfort. Things like using heavy aluminum and glass, and that completely useless screen on the front that can “show your eyes” (it sucks and doesn’t look nearly as good as the ads, also creepy looking). They should’ve focused on making it as inexpensive, light, long lasting, and as small as possible. I know gaming isn’t their focus but that’s a huge miss for a VR headset (yes it’s VR, you’re not actually seeing the world, still an enclosed headset that simulates seeing real world with cameras. Quest has pass through cameras too) there’s also no physical controllers for games, the most popular and important software type for headsets. Therefore there’s no fun to be had on these things esp when games make the MOST use of an immersive experience. Nobody wants to play those shitty games with hand waving & pinching This product line needs a complete overhaul in priorities, I want it to do well but their execution and plan made no sense

Focussing resources on the development of a product with wider market appeal like an 'Apple Vision' makes a lot more sense than making AVP2 which again barely anyone would want to buy at that kind of price. One of the things thats making it hard to justify purchasing the 3.5k AVP is the relatively small and niche availability of apps for this device. On the flipside, app developers have a hard time justifying making apps because there are only a handful users that can or want to afford the device. Bringing a relatively inexpensive version to market to increase the user base will greatly boost app development, which in turn will also increase the value proposition for the AVP or AVP2. Its the right long-term play.

Apple made one key mistake they thought Vision Pro was life altering device instead of the niche device it is and for the foreseeable future will be. Nothing wrong with reaching for the next big thing but in this case their reach exceed their grasp.

3:56 that is ABSOLUTELY INSANE Great video, and I agree with your observations here. The Vision Pro’s shortcomings were hard for the masses to swallow at a $3500 price tag (I just bought a motorcycle for that much), but for around $1500, it would be much better. I do think Apple needs to keep it UNDER $1500 though. Even $1600 just sounds a bit too much. Whereas I think anywhere from $800-1300 would get the masses very interested. Just like they are interested in the iPhone 15, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. EDIT: I didn’t notice the mustache. Don’t see anything wrong with it.

Was the thumbnail a statement(!) or a question(?)? I foresee Vision Pro going the “HomePod-to-Mini-bring back HomePod” route. If “spatial computing” is ‘s ultimate goal, not just a “niche”, they will need hardware to reach the masses.

Let’s be honest; while AVP is stunning it’s no where near the fun you’ll have on a Quest 3. Quest 3 with developers mode (free, not $400 for dev dongle…) is an absolute game changer. Turn your Quest 3 into the best emulator of all time. At the height of its greatness install a Linux terminal, and control system files installing nearly any and everything. Plus it has native controllers... All this much everybody knows already, but Apple, as innovative as the company is, has severely failed THEIR consumer base at a VR headset. And Zucks product will continue to mop the floor with Apple in this field each and every time because he loves the piggy backing competition tech capabilities.
