When a parent leaves you and doesn't care just say to them :"good luck to you, have a nice life and goodbye" Do not turn back, dont talk to them. They chose their life and you're not part of their life. They decided that way. If you decide to leave dont go back. If they didn't want to be part of your life they shouldn't come after years and years later.

Putting the money aside, who in their right mind would want to be with a mother who abandoned them and her sleazy partner who was only looking to use them to get money. That woman should never feel she has any right to be called anyone's mom.

as OP said she wasn't informed on her Mother's point of view of the leaving and only had the limited imprestion of a child of the actual events, so wanted to at least get that info to see if there was a possiblity of relationship with her as an adult.

I cant believe the mom even defended her new husband when he made such disgusting remarks to her daughter. It was already bad enough the woman left her, but really? That was so gross to me. Then to demand money, she is one of those who should never be allowed near kids.

Who the hell does this woman think she is?! Obey?! What the actual what?! She abandoned her family for her own selfish pleasures, and she has the nerve to bring out the "I'm your mom do as I say" crap! She literally threatened her own daughter like what the actual wha?! She makes me sick, I feel sorry for Amanda and her dad, I hope they never see her again and that they live a happy life without Amanda's mom

What is it with these selfish parents abandoning their poor children and then coming back years later to demand something and expecting them to just cave immediately, because "You owe it to me! I gave you life." Um........ Nope. You made your choice and now it's time to live with it. Sorry, not sorry.

It isn't just a feeling. That woman whose only contribution is carrying her to term is disgusting and a complete scum of the earth. She's definitely pimping out her _daughter_ That monthly rent/payments is probably going to turn into "favors" What type of mother would brush off and *DEFEND* comments about their own daughter "Your honkers jiggle nicely so wear a sportsbra- It'll make them look more-" 🤢🤮 When I said in a different channel how you make your antagonist even more scummier just to justify their unwanted spotlight _and_ highlight the protagonist as a *pure good* for the majority of the video.. You really had to go this far? =_=|||

"...a young girl like you could easily earn some fast bucks" - Sounds to me as if they want her to work in the sex industry. A teenage/early twenties daughter isn't likely to be a big money-spinner if you try and treat her reasonably decently. The mother's husband showing open interest in the daughter rings alarm bells too.

I can say good for the OP and her father for getting such a toxic , selfish, manipulative, leech out of their lives. she chose to leave them, and now has your Dasaree to come back much, is trying to manipulate the OPM to feeling obligated to help her despite her choosing to want nothing to do with them, and when threatening doesn’t work, she tries to pretend to be all sweet or pretend, as if she cares, but as the op said, this woman lacks morals and empathy.

The mother gets hit right square in the face by the consequences of her actions; they can inflict a painful bite. Wickedness never was happiness. Forgiveness doesn't mean trusting or letting the offender get away with it. On another note, these stories all follow the same plot; it would be nice to have more variety and different turns.

In soap operas when the mother abandons the family, it's because they are being blackmailed and is forced to leave to protect the family, or other circumstances not of her own making, it usually ends with the mother reconciling with her kids, and her kids say goodbye to her when she dies. Unfortunately, that's not what happens in real life. Glad that Amanda and her father have moved on; would love to have it end when Amanda reveals that her father remarried a few years after the divorce to a great woman who treats Amanda with respect; they met while the father was working at his friend's company, and the stepmother works with the father in his business. Amanda never mentioned this fact to her mother because she respected her father and stepmother too much, and wanted to protect her stepmother; knowing her mother would have tried to contact her to harass her about Amanda's father. Amanda could have mentioned it to her mother to rub it in that her dad was happy that he found love again and this time to someone who took on the lean times thru thick and thin, but decided not to. Her father deserves to find happiness, there are great women out there who will love someone for them, and not for their money. Amanda's mother made the wrong decision to leave her family through the rough times. She wanted someone who will support her and buy her the most expensive things, bypassing the sacrifices a family makes in order to pay the bills. Well, she should have stayed and sacrificed, she could have had a nice life instead of marrying someone who is abusive (I suspect her current husband is abusive, judging from what she is saying about him and his friends, and his actions towards Amanda). If she was having trouble coping, instead of leaving, should have contacted a mental health professional because yes, life can be overwhelming, but facing it instead of running away would have been a better outcome in the long run. Her choices cost her the better life she would have had. The grass isn't always greener on the other side......

OP being in college means they are more than probably that they are a legal adult, nothing the "step-father" did was actionable "trouble" (as she didn't sound like a first semister freshman I find vastionly unlikely she was still a minor) he wasn't her legal guardian, professor, employer nor in any other position of authority over her, so sex harremsent apply so a single interaction. Scummy but the only "trouble" he can get into is his adult step-daughter choseing to have nothing to do with him

If you think about it: Isn't it a bit poor, when the only good thing you can say about yourself as a mother is that you gave birth to a child as a reference to earn some appreciation? I mean, without talking it down, but the real "fun"-part only starts from then on, and it doesn't stop until they're grown up. Please enlighten me, mothers (cause I'm just a man): From my perspective, most things during a pregnancy and a childbirth happen pretty much automatically, made by nature, so to speak. For sure, you have to endure and accept everything that's going on during these nine months, and it's definitely not an easy road. But from a certain point it's not anymore a decision of you, whether you go through it all or give up. And I don't even begin to start this religious/philosophical question, whether your child had asked for being born by exactly you or not....

People need to stop seeing illness as a payback/karma or that is what they deserve. Why? How many children/babies/good people get sick. It is as if you are saying they deserve to get sick. No one, deserve to get sick - yes - karma, if you believe that, but getting sick - NO, this is not karma- it not because they did something or even because they did not believe in, the secret/god or what ever.

"Despite that incident."? You didn't accidentally bop your noggin and forget to go home. You left....On Pur-Pose. And then ignored your child! Don't make me bring out Erin Brockovich again with that putting herself in your shoes comment!!!

Well. Amazing. So grateful to AirTexts for adding to civilization by encouraging us to increase our vocabularies. In appreciation, here's another vocabulary word which may be helpful (though rather niche) in the future: arriviste, which, if you think about it is often used in these stories.

Should live in the UK 🇬🇧 or Europe, you pay a percentage of your wages for tax (20%) then a percentage of your taxes for National insurance.... (10 - 20% of tax bill??) NI pays absolutely everything and leaves you with no charges for a doctor's appointment, an ambulance, firefighters, police, physio, after care and above all...... no hospital, nor health care charges. 20k 0peration......free! 120k long stay care.....free! We do have private health care companies also, let's take "Bupa" for instance, 25 - 30% cheaper than the USA's standard insurance company. You guys don't have to join a waiting list for months plus other benefits,,, you guys aren't getting treated so well. Meh but I guess it's because we've all been around way longer than you guys. 😢 Good luck?! 👍
