That son did not hesitate to stop supporting his mom in hopes of becoming more worthy of a brilliant woman. Shows what he values more: wealth over tradition

I love your avvie. It's such a pretty fleur-de-lys. Anyway, yeah... I agree with you entirely. It just seems to me that he was prowling for somebody to be both a caregiver for his mother and to dig for gold. Also, I caught strong whiffs of this future MIL love bombing the main character- buying her a new and expensive wardrobe, for example.

Yeeeah nahh, being a caretaker AND a newlywed?? That's a recipe for disaster...and the fiance seems like such a mommy's boy- nope, sorry- the MIL isn't even freaking grateful!! Hell no I wouldn't marry into that family if you PAID me

Look Liam. I don’t think you’re getting it. She DOESN’T WANT TO MARRY YOU! Even if her dad says yes, all it takes is her no. It’s done, over, kaput.

Someone to look after you in hospital?! You have them. They’re nurses. Do the hospitals in your homeland not have them? Hmmm everywhere else does. Oh and everywhere else but your country, the nursing costs are part of the hospital costs.
@colleenosullivan8576 ай бұрын
For quite a few years now, family is expected to do a lot of the care giving in the hospital. The families do what aids used to do. Nurses give your meds, take vitals and things that are necessary to keep you alive. Since they fired so many nurses during Covid they haven’t replaced them. The administrators would rather pocket the money

I wonder if Apple Texts can be considered a dysapora version of the States. I don't think I am explaining myself properly, but sort of like a mirror world of the United States that is a bit backwards and strange. It sort of seems like the United States, but it isn't exactly because it exists in some alternative universe.

They have CNAs. They do not expect the family to do that, at least where I am. I know Cleveland Clinic has Nurses and CNAs for every patient room. Are there hospital systems that don't?!
@defender40044 ай бұрын
There are many countries where family is expected to care for a family member who is staying in hospital. I live in a country though where nurses care for the patients. This can lead to some - umh - interesting clash of cultures. There are many foreigners here nowadays and when one of them is in hospital their whole family gather around them and are rather loud. Native patients who are used to less visitors and more tranquillity often have a problem with this

That future MIL was just getting started with her attitude. She got very comfortable very fast. I shudder to think how she would be in the years to come. Would she have fussed and fussed until the DIL was a doormat/yes girl. I could see the MIL insisting DIL turn her company over to the husband, and kept on a $10 pocket money allowance, while being imprisoned at home taking care of the house. Oh, and the MIL would insist on moving into the DIL’s house.

I bet 20 dollars that Liam would cheat on Bella in the next 3 to 6 years of marriage with another woman who is way richer than his wife. So he could get another opportunity. And the reason why I'm so confident to win cause, he just admitted that he's a gold digger.

Bill was totally right about Liam. As soon as he would come across anyone who he considered the bigger better deal, Liam would have totally ditched Bella. Also, of course, his mom is a nightmare Karen type.

Donna needs to make up her mind. Does she want her to marry her son or not? She keeps going back and forth between those two moods She's such a drama queen too. Literally just having a conversation isn't enough to hurt your back!

Yeah I had a mother in law exactly like this one. I took care of her. After having knee replacement. None of her family helped in the least and yet when they visited I did the cooking and serving and cleanup never heard so much as a thank you. But she was thanking them left, right and center because they drove 10 minutes to visit for 2 hours and stuff their faces.

Name 1 hospital in the US that not only allows family to fill the place of a nurse but actually requires it? I would love to go their for issues that are not serious. If a hospital does this they are then liable for any mistakes made by anyone while the patient is still in the care of the hospital. They will even require a AMA to be signed stating you left against medical advice to cover themselves from lawsuits.

For the last freaking time people like Donna need to realize THEY don't have the right to 'teach' these fully grown women how to behave especially when she doesn't know how to behave properly. And why would Bella want the furniture Donna picked out? that should be done by Bella and whoever SHE chooses to marry. And there isn't a woman in this world that would want to marry a mama's boy. Liam dude you can't sell a house that YOU do not own, damn this dude really is stupid.

Where's Liam's father? He didn't make appearance, so either he passed away or left Donna and she raised Liam herself. If Bella's father said "Where is your father, Liam? You seems pretty useless because no one taught you to be a man." 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So she could have stayed in the hospital for a month but instead went home with Bella for free care if I understood it right? He just couldn't stop pushing her to be the caregiver. She has a job what did they not get doesn't matter if she owns it sheesh

Never marry or have relationship with momma's boy or mommy's girl, they are like a ticking time bomb in your life. They are not worth your time, money, effort, energy, love, and care, because everything will go in vain. Now this is what people should learn from this story, never give reasons to say NO. Giving reasons why you don't like or want, will only opens doors for further discussions and arguments. A stern and hard NO solves all the problems.
