Just a nitpick, but I think you mean "in no uncertain terms" . Because you're definitely not on the fence about what you would do if she continued to treat her that way.

But you are correct, I have a big sister and while I am larger than her, I will put Anybody in their place that even tries to hurt or humiliate her. Even my parents. I'm her protector. Generational trauma; the grandmother herself was subjected to this treatment as a woman herself, and takes her anger and self-hate out on her grandchildren by favoring her grandson and kicking the granddaughter aside. Simply put, Grandma subscribes to the whole “only boys are good, girls are useless except as brood mares” bullshit belief; thus perpetuating the same system that abused her when SHE was young. The grandmother endured that cruel treatment for so long she began to believe it as fact; being brainwashed into hating her own sex, cutting herself down, and passing that hate and trauma down to her Innocent grandchildren. It’s the same with MIL’s who abuse their DIL’s, because those women experienced that same treatment from THEIR MIL, and thus take it out on the next generation.

My kids were taught to be respectful to their elders but to also stand up for what is right, as long as they were ready to defend their actions and take any punishment. Bobby was close to high school age and loved and protected his younger sister. There comes a time when respect has to be a two way street.

Op in the last story is stupid, she's been throwing out your food since you got married and spineless husband refuses because "mommy's lonely". OP demanded her husband get the spare key back "if she does this again, I'm leaving you!" Not even a week later she comes in again and throws out all the food for her grandson's birthday, and admits she only vaguely knows its this month. And yet OP's response is "You can still come around if you pretend to play nice and I guess I probably won't divorce my jellyfish of a husband" And then she proved even further that she doesn't care about Noah because the 'apology' food she brought was all stuff he's allergic too. WHY DID SHE EVEN TAKE THE FOOD THEN AND NOT DIVORCE HIM WHEN HE CAME HOME AND SAID 'DON'T MAKE MOM CRY' ?!

@IzzyPR2010 Жыл бұрын
There is no reason for the MIL to have a key to her sons home, especially when she throws out food. And then demand the the wife cook for her that weekend, her request should have been answered with "you don't get to demand me to cook anything after throwing out the food I cooked". Really you don't get to insult someone's cooking and then demand you cook something for them so they can impress their friends.
