My father never called me ugly, but he did call me "fatter than a little pig" several times when I was growing up. I'm 70 years old now and just thinking about that saddens me. People, be careful with what you say to others; you never know the effect your words have on others.

I'm so sorry you had to hear that from your dad. My mom did the "Its such a same your so over weight with that pretty face". Then give all the attention and nice clothes to my stick thin sister. But then she married her off to our stepbrother so it doesn't bother me that much and since I'm 61 who cares.

If our parents had talked this way to one of us he wouldn't have held back, and the entire town would've known his disgust in that person! This grandma reminds me so much of my grandpa! Beauty is skin and ugly is all the way to the bone. Leila has cornered the ugly market. Chloe's sister and parents, especially her dad, got what they deserved. To call you own daughter ugly is horrible. He deserved to be cut off from any inheritance. I'm glad the grandparents loved Chloe so much to stand up for her. I hope when it comes time that Chloe is the solo beneficiary of her grandparents inheritance.

I think that the end of Leila's wedding came with her absurd notion of every woman attending her wedding should lose at least 10 pounds. It serves Leila right that her wedding ended like it did. Leila deserved it.

@@RequiemPoete That'd be nice but most ppl are lucky to earn enough to save maybe 5 grand a year. Personally other than what's needed for retirement and unexpected expenses I'd say use saved money to take family trips every few years. Most parents save for kids college, weddings and such which can take a large chunck of savings they barely have enough for retirement. If they need assisted living or nursing homes kiss the rest goodbye. Other than extremely good incomes and investments I'd say ppl actually leaving inheritance is increasingly rare at this point. You want to leave money I'd say good life insurance policies are the way to go so you can enjoy what you earned while you can.

When I was younger, hell, even now, Im treated like that. Not by my parents or by anyone that should really count. It all came from my eldest "sibling". The reasoning was because she and I share the same mom, but because of who my dad was. My dad was an alcoholic, bad enough so that he was pretty much wasted 24-7. I have not recovered all the psychiatric abuse she dealt out aimed directly at me. Ex: My college graduation even though she wasn't invited, she proclaimed I barely scraped by with my grades. I held a 3.8 GPA through all five years! When I would bring my GPA to light, she claimed I constantly cheated. This from a woman who quit school in the ninth grade because she got pregnant. When I was baptised, she claimed I'm only doing it for show. Not because I believed. Anything that happened to her or her family was because of me. When I was 14, her husband at the time slapped me in the face with a solid fist because I went into their kitchen for a cup of water without permission. At 16, she shoved me down a flight of stairs because I told her I wouldn't stop playing video games immediately after she told me to. I was very bruised. I even lied to the police at school saying I had a bad bike wreck even though my injuries didn't confirm it. I did that because she told me she would kill my cat if I snitched. She even tried to take the fall for her and her husband when they were stealing money from the business they were working at as managers. I don't mean tiny dollar amounts either. I think the total came out to about $850,000. She still does this to this very day! The last contact I had with her was back in the summer of 21 when she told me I wasn't allowed to visit my mothers grave because SHE bought the plot, the casket, and head stone even though she knew at the time insurance was paying for it. If she saw me out there at any time she would have me arrested for trespassing! (Incidentally, I spoke with the owner of the funeral home and there isn't scrap she can do) and then proceeded to tell me I wasn't a true member of the family and that my mom was gonna get an abortion when she was pregnant with me. As well as telling me my brother and other two sisters always hated me and were only being nice because of my mom. So, yeah, Chloe it may not be the exact problem but it ranks closely. The best you can do is walk away from it and disown everyone. Whether they were nice or not. And after being through that, (yes I know it is a story) if you need a friend, I'm here. I know what real beauty is....and it cannot be seen really because we lose skin and skin cells pretty much hourly. Beauty is mostly felt. Because true beauty comes from with in at all times!

What's funny is that Chloe is probably actually hot, if you go by the voice actress. But even if she were plain, she would still be a great catch since she's nice and empathetic and has a sense of responsibility and work ethic. Being married to Leila would be a nightmare.

If I was the groom, I would RUN because sooner or later, because, God forbid, she will make his life hell and take him for what is worth should they divorce, considering how she and her parents are treating Chloe, she will treat him and their kids the same way. Before you marry into a family, see how they treat their loved ones.

@@glenystranter2713 I don’t agree. Between my sister and I, we look unrelated. My sister has always said that I am the spoiled pretty one. But that is not true. My sister had everything paid for by my parents, high school, college, first car, first apartment, first house, new cars for each driver in her family (that would be 4 cars, both of her kids drive) mom sent her all her diamonds and other “good” jewelry and on and on, $10,000 here and there just because. But me? I’m as smart as my sister but not as privileged. I payed for my own schooling, my first car, my first apartment, I paid for everything. My parents never gave me any money, or other things just because. And now, my sister is doing well in another state and I am caring for my aging mother. She will be 100 next month and has been here for 10 years. Yes, I am doing well in my life with no help from my family. And my mom often tells me how when it was my turn they helped me to go to college too. I’m a petty girl these days and call her on her crap every single time. And remind her that the reason she doesn’t have nice jewelry is that she sent it all to my sister along with most of the $80,000 that my dad left her in cash. So, we are both smart, we are both RNs we are both married with kids, my parents paid for everything in my sisters life including the house they live in. My husband and I earned everything we have and we have more. Because nothing was ever handed to me, I have always worked hard at anything I do, and my success is mine. Not my moms.

@@glenystranter2713 I think its bad story telling. Sometimes the “cute” one is the discriminated against, as the not so cute one “needs us more”. However it happens it’s wrong to favor one child over another. No, I have 3 kids and parented each of them slightly differently because they are different kids! But what I gave one, I tried to give all of them, as their age and maturity allowed. And I have 3 kick ass kids now! And I feel very lucky that they are amazing and still love me, because I’m human, I did my best but ack, looking back I can see things I could have done better.
