hey@@reckless1280 , fyi "Pixel binning" is an image processing technique. You're talking about "product binning" (selling chips with fewer cores than what you initially tried to make). Love the show, especially anytime webOS is mentioned. The Palm Pre was peak smartphone!

The AI accelerator performance numbers are very opaque. 40 TOPS means nothing without more context. Is it 40 TOPS of 32 bit floating point matrix multiplication? 16 bit floating point? 8 bit integer? Is it strictly for sparse matrix multiplication? A top of the line NVIDIA chip will have TOPS numbers that range wildly across all of these, because they are wildly different tasks. And TOPS are not all that matter, memory bandwidth is often the bottleneck. And even then, great hardware is useless if the software stack that allows compiling models for it is of poor quality.

Publishers PAY authors for the rights to produce and sell an audio version of a title. Siri reading random internet text and user interface elements? Sure, I guess. A company that just announced a partnership to become the audio home of a big national book club that works with all the big publishers would know that.
