Man, your van/workstation setup is all I've ever wanted. My editing work has slowed down to non-existent these past few years, but I always dreamed of being able to take something like the AVP, hop into my car, take my Sony A7III and DJI Osmo Pocket 3, and just go capture life. The AVP seems like a dream. Can't afford it, and I guess I should worry about getting work first, but this just seems amazing.

Hey! So I ended up returning the AVP - too uncomfortable for that price… I switched to the Quest 3 which with the elite battery strap is very comfortable and at $600 total a good $3000 cheaper! Plus using the free app immersed you can have 3 huge monitors when you edit! Check out my other video on using Quest 2 + immersed (Q3 has higher resolution am- not quite as high as AVP but really good!)

Great demo, Jonas. You convey the value of AVP with eloquence. I understand that fit is very personal, although I recommend looking into a different light seal size. If you're sure it's correct, try fitting the solo knit band higher on the back of your head at a 45-degree angle. I initially wrote off the solo knit band, but after some refined adjustments and placement on my head, it's quite comfortable for a few hours at a time. The key is to let it almost float on your face. Adding the battery is just adding more weight to the head. A 10-minute break quickly gives you another 2 hours with this configuration. We need to take periodical breaks from screens regardless of whether it's an HMD or a traditional desk display.

Not having my ergonomic mouse is automatically a no-go for me. Looks like it will be interesting to watch this tech develop. Thanks for the review.

You can use the mouse for the actual "editing screen" and editing work - it just doesn't cross over to the other apps that run from the Vision Pro itself, but those apps you just need to look at and pinch your fingers to select :-)

As to the weight thing - this is NEW muscle load. The odd thing about muscles is they get STRONGER with use. As a camera operator in my early years, my betacam was a hassle to operate at first. Then it wasn’t. Why? My upper body musculature adapted. The same will happen here. AVP users will quickly build the marginally stronger neck and shoulder muscles needed to use this comfortably over as much time as you need.

This is spot on. I noticed a lot of fatigue early when wearing the Vision Pro after release, but I’ve been wearing it and using it a lot since, and it has become a lot easier to wear it for longer. That must be yet, differently used muscles have developed and have become stronger!

How about eye fatigue? I'd imagine the screen strains the eyes a lot being so close to them?

Wasn't really an issue for me, but everyone's eyes are different

I tried the Vision Pro. One issue was audio. The virtual display from say a MBP gives you video inside of the VP environment but the audio has to still come from the MBP. What about critical sync? What about a collaborative workflow with others?

I have not tried - but thinking you can run a audio headset from the MBP ?

Reminder, AVP and computer do not have to be on Wi-Fi for this to work

Cut the stupid music bed. No purpose.

If music beds bother you I can recommend the ai tool lalal.ai www.lalal.ai - you can upload any video and it separates the audio into stems - then you can download those stems and skip the music :-)
