This is the first product from Apple that I was not interested in at all. And I've been an Apple fanboy since forever. It's genuinely creepy and dystopian and gives off a Wall-E/Ready Player One vibe, and not in a good way. It's a product that seems to create a bigger disconnect than even social media has managed to do.

I honestly feel like that most people who are now first hands on with the apple vision pro have never experienced any kind of AR or VR before. I don't really understand the points being made why it's "good", cause this is all technology which has been available for years by now. Yes, the fact that apple launched such a product makes it more aware to a much wider audience, but just the price kinda makes it obsolete already if you look at something like the meta quest 3. I'm very exited where it might lead in the future, with meta now having a serious competitor in the VR/AR space, but I still don't get how SO many people are actually trying to use it in everyday life. Going into public with it, trying to use it as a replacement to their phones and laptops, etc. etc. It still pretty much feels like a tech demo for people who have a little too much of disposable income

Nah dawg I’ve had extensive experience using the alternatives and they aren’t comparable to this. The meta devices are great for gaming but there is no headset on the market that FEELS as futuristic and nice as this does. Sometimes it takes a company like Apple changing public perception of a technology like this, even if older versions of it existed. Apple winning here is a WIN for other AR/VR platforms because they all have a real competitor now. I’m bullish on the tech as a whole but we gotta give Apple their flowers, this product is years ahead of its time and that’s why it’s so expensive
