Apple watch not holding charge, apple logo fades red and warning sign appears

Having this problem with my apple watch series 1. I have put a new battery in and connected it properly, yet no hope. The Apple logo appears and fades red. When the watch is off from the charger, it won't show any symbols or signs on the screen as if it has no charge. I have tried many different configurations of holding the side button and crown but all it shows is the warning symbol saying to go to the help section on Apple's website. Comment below to try and find a fix as a lot of people seem to be having the same problem.

Update: I replaced the battery and the problem persisted. I eventually called up apple and explained the problem, I told them I wasn't prepared to pay any more to get it fixed so they ended up refurbishing it for free although it seemed like a software issue. Would recommend if you have a similar problem to do the same and specifically mention that you don't want to spend any more money and they may grant you a free fix (even if it's they're own fault for the software failing).

I have same problem with my series 1 took the watch to apple store they want me to pay 200 for updates an repairs my watch its running on ois 1.1.1 something like that so he recomend not to fix an buy a version 3

It looks like Apple is doing it again. Slowing down its devices for you to go and purchase the new expensive Apple Watch. SMH!

Same problem and some people say apple would cost it at $200 so the next best thing is to buy a new apple watch

I got exactly the same problem , Apple denied service repair for free, asked for $250 dollars even though I did nothing wrong for the watch to have this problem. How much is to change its battery? Seems people still have the problem even after replacing battery.

hmmm I think the best way is replace battery in servise. This is the only way :/ I bought another watch after having that problem. A couple days ago. But hmm maybe try to charge it longer than one night. Didnt try this.

Apple watch is one of the apple useless product, I also faced this problem and then apple support said now watch is of no use. Looks like apple is trying to promote new watch sell by introducing such software bugs - upsell strategy.
