Nice overall comparison between the two. I was also stuck between saving costs and going for the best one for a longer run. My deciding factor is the fast charging. Twice as fast irl. If you’re like me and want to charge your watch only while taking a shower, go for series 8. If this is none of your concern, save your bucks.

I upgraded from the SE to the Ultra for the battery life since I track sleep and multiple workouts. That said, other than battery the SE did all I needed for the last several years (Nike Cellular edition). I honestly think the SE is for most people, it’s a great watch (Blood Ox and ECG are kind of gimmicks TBH).

This is the best comparison video I have seen on these two watch models. There is tremendous value with the SE. TBH, I don't mind not having always on. I actually would prefer it was not always on. Nothing wrong with having to raise your wrist to view your watch-face. After watching this video I still cannot decide which one I would want to purchase. You made great cases for each and of course emphasized the value with the SE. I might have to watch this again in order to decide 🤔

I got one too and it’s been really nice. I bought a MacBook Pro on black friday and the little promo they had gave me a $350 CAD gift card so the watch was basically free. The fitness tracking stuff is great and I also love using it as a remote for pictures and stuff

Apart from crash detection & the new temperature sensor, series 8 it’s the same as the series 7, same bigger display, fast charging, sensors, functions & battery life! And, since the series 7 it’s on sale, right now, for me it was a no brainer, went ahead and bought the green 41 mm, since i got a pretty small wrist.. it’s a great watch and i’m very happy with my purchase decision

Got an Apple Watch SE for Christmas, was generally not that sold on smart watches when they first came out. It’s my first time having a smartwatch. Went to the Apple shop yesterday to compare and contrast between the SE and the series 8 - I decided to continue with the SE and already I’m really enjoying. Ordered a new strap, and a pretty Swarovski accessory for the bezels. 😊

The always on display is the true difference to me. I hate the wrist flip action, especially if you talking to someone. You don't want to be caught "time watching". Also I appreciate as big a display as my aging eyes can buy. Yes, would have liked to save the money, but these additional features swayed my decision.

I’ve had my series 6 for 2 years and I don’t even really use the ECG or blood oxygen sensor. Only thing I love is the always on display

Many thanks for sharing your thoughts and advice. Much appreciated. I currently have an Apple Watch series 4 which now has a shocking battery life of about 5 hours! Funny how this came about after an update in 2022. So I guess I'm going to need a new watch very soon. As a disabled person I have particular requirements (one of which no one has mentioned and that is Medical ID. This can be an absolute lifesaver with the wealth of information it can hold). Anyway, back to your video (and I did happen to notice, as you were scrolling through the watches, that they did both appear to have Medical ID) I felt the SE was tremendous value for money and that will be the one I would go for.

I still have the series 4 and it’s still going like a champ! Sure battery capacity has decreased over the years but still does me a full day. Maybe I’ll upgrade this year

I got the 44mm SE2 and cannot recommend it highly enough. I live in NZ so the Series 8 costs $300 more. The new back makes it really light and comfortable.👍

I would’ve liked the O2 monitoring, but that was out of my price range. I wish the bezels would’ve been a bit thinner on the SE so it would be easier to read off of. I’m older, sight is not what it used to be. I for me the larger sized watch I find too bulky. But it’s the only “con” for me. The heart rate monitor is very accurate. And that was the main reason for me to get a smartwatch. I can easily make a full day with this. So I’m very content with it!

I was considering getting the SE2 as my first Apple Watch, but decided to get the non-cellular Nike Series 7 instead. Reasons included always on, dust resistance, non-plastic back and fast charging. I think I made the right decision, even though it was more expensive.

I went for a series SE basically because when I went to the shops I basically asked and this is before I even seen this video that what is the difference between the SE and the other Apple watches because I could only really afford the SE and basically I was not prepared to pay more for a watch that could basically do the things that I needed a watch to be able to do and I really wanted an Apple Watch. I did not need the always on display and I did not need faster charging as I would probably be just putting it on charge every night and would only been using the sleep tracker every now and again I think at this point so basically the Se was the one for me. and now after many years always wanting an Apple Watch I now have one.

I would recommend series 7. Same features, great chip and performance, great price. If you are new then buy the apple watch SE(2020) it's cheaper than the latest version(2022). There's literally no difference except the chip. Offers the same features.

Battery life is always a killer for me with Apple Watches, that’s why I always stick to Garmin watches. My Garmin watch literally lasts 5 days without charge. Until Apple can make their watches last at least 3 days, I’m not even going to consider buying one. They’re nice watches though TBH

Apple Store rep insisted the SE also had the QWERTY keyboard lol. Also it doesn’t have the iPhone watch mirroring feature. Last, I find the watch face scuffs up very easily. My series one doesn’t have any scuffs on it at all. These 3 things, had I known, would have changed me to a series 8…

The only why i got series 8 stainless steel model 41 mm cellular edition was because it’s more durable and off the key board has crash detection on most cases and because of dust resistance 🙌🏼 even though it was expensive 🙎🏻‍♂️ I feel like selling it to get the SE 2 but i know the series 8 would last me longer
