I am now very much into the Apple ecosystem, owning an iPhone, Macbook, Mac Mini and iPad. However, I have resisted purchasing an Apple Watch till now. This is not on account of the price since Apple charges a premium on all its products anyway. Rather it is the battery life which even after so many versions have been launched is still less than a day. For me, a watch should (to paraphrase the old Hero Honda tagline) be "Charge and Forget" which means the battery must last for at least a week without having to recharge. I own an Amazfit GTS 2 Mini which is supposed to last for 14 days and generally does, even if it does not have all the bells and whistles of the Apple watch. However, one single reason why I would want to go in for the Apple Watch, if they can somehow extend this battery life, is the cellular connectivity which works independently and does not require a phone nearby, as most other smartwatches do.

How long should I keep my smartwatch? Is it worth buying one even? Or shall i go for brands like Tissot and Seiko? My Fossil Gen 3 is still running well, but the battery is not upgradable. This keeps me in constant doubt about the life of smartwatches in general.

Unless you are seriously into fitness things you don't need an one . These smartwatches lasts may be two to three years . Stick to seiko casio Tissot etc
