APPLE WATCH WON’T TURN ON AFTER BEING ON WORKING CHARGER FOR 2 WEEKS

My Apple Watch died because I misplaced the charger and wasn’t able to charge it for 3-4 weeks. when moved out of my college dorm, I found the charger so I put it on it. It’s been there since at least May 6th and at the time of uploading, it is May 23rd. No. The charger is not broken. It works on other Apple watches. Yes I’ve tried resetting it, and pressing and holding both buttons. It’s still dead. If any one knows what’s wrong or how to fix, that would be appreciated. Would prefer to not deal with the hassle of sending it in or taking it somewhere.

I came here as a last resort, I was close to buying a new one after I gave up with the button presses, charging it for x days etc. I realised the watch was getting hot. The watch has been charging happily for over a year with the magnetic charger connected directly into a USB power outlet in an extension plug socket. I tried switching USB ports, no change. Last ditch attempt, I used a more powerful charge unit rated at 9V and 3.1amp. After connecting the watch to the magnetic charger plugged into this and leaving it for just 2 minutes, it came back to life. I was very close to purchasing an SE to replace this (v4). So trying a more powerful charger is absolutely worth a try. FYI the watch appeared DEAD, zero activity on the screen whatsoever.

That's interesting, as amperage isn't usually pushed from the charger to the device, but drawn by the device from the charger (i.e. current draw). So in other words, a charger with a higher mA rating support devices that have a bigger current draw. Still, I'm going to give this a try.

This issue happened to me. I took my watch to Apple because it wouldn’t turn on, even after leaving it on the charger for hours. They told me that the crack in the screen must have permanently damaged an internal component. I forgot about it for a few months and one day my brother put it on a charger and it turned on again.

Exact same issue but I was using an extension cord to charge it so try plugging it directly into the wall then try and restart it, it worked for me

Press and hold both buttons but soon as you see Apple Logo release both buttons within half sec don’t wait a sec or two soon as you see it let go both then put on charger quick

After a whole day of spamming buttons ,even 5 minutes in the freezer , going on my phone to reset , changing plugs , squeezing it all over and tapping it all over . I finally got it to rest by continuously tapping the power and Digital Crown buttons alternately. A pic on my watch came up to tell me me to hold it close to my phone and then I got a code to type in . I did that and now my watch is acting like it’s doing an update for the last 10 mins it’s roughly 60% done and I’m still waiting 🤞

So I tried a recommendation a fellow KZbinr commented on here and it worked for me. I was having the same issue black screen not turning on. My charger was working tried other charges and pressed side buttons multiple times and held it but nothing worked. So I tried going into the find my device and pinging my watch as a fellow youtuber reccomended. My watch had a delay in pinging but screen came back on and started working again. I hope this might help someone.

I am currently experiencing this issue, and what I did is... I pressed both side buttons together while it is seated on top of my charger. The apple logo showed up and a circle around it showed as well, indicating that charging is in progress. Try this, it might be of help to guys having the same issue as mine.

First, I don’t find this to be a “worthless video” as one commenter did. The poster was using the community to find help. Same as me. The fact that her video doesn’t have a solution is immaterial-the possibility that someone might have a solution and post it here is quite high. So she is doing a service by asking the question. What’s “worthless” is posting a comment saying “worthless video”. Added absolutely no value to this thread. I, of course, have the same issue, happened suddenly during the day, wanted to check the time and Black Mirror was all I got. Ok, problem resolved. In my case I got on Apple’s chat support, went through the whole tale and wound up sending the watch back to Apple, for “repair” although it was pretty clear, to me anyhow, that it was gonna be replaced, and so it was. It was four days out of warranty when we did the chat session, but the incident happened several days before. In any case it was replaced, not repaired, as a “one-time exception”.

I have a similar problem with my Series2 watch but I get nothing on my screen except an occasional flicker of the Apple logo while it’s on the charger. I tried holding the buttons but nothing happens. I chatted with Apple Tech Support and they want me to send it in for $248 for replacement. So I actually replaced the battery myself for about $10 (the old battery is swollen... yikes). But the same problem happens. I even tried a different charger. I guess I’m SOL.

The battery is dead if it was at 0% for a prolonged amount of time. The battery used in them is a Lithium Polymer which gets damaged if that happens

Mine did the same thing. I took it off the power strip and plugged it directly into the wall. Needs to be a good power source apparently, or it won’t charge at all. Works fine now.

I have same problem the charger won't work on that watch try your watch on a other charger if it works but a new one my charger was brand new but wouldn't charge mine so I use my friends new apple watch charger for gen6 it's that cable it's so stressful the new cables have a heat senser and if it gets worm it won't charge the best option is to buy a original apple charger if it is then try different plug adapters and try adiffent plug outlet apple watch is strange when coming to charger

I also had the same problem i did a little research and u have to hold both buttons at the same time until ur apple logo pops up after that let it load and it should be on the password screen if not try it a couple more times if it STILL doesn’t work try to do the same but on the actual charger. If that doesn’t work go to a professional cuz idk what else to do Good luck! (this worked for me on the first try without the charger)

You need to replace the battery. After you let the ion battery drain of power beyond its minimum it will no longer charge.

I can’t fix your problem but I can tell u what is wrong with it. All apple products use lithium-ion battery’s and when a lithium ion battery cell drops below a certain voltage it is ruined and cannot be recharged again. Your best bet is to take it to a apple store and get them to check it out they will probably replace the battery or give u a new watch.
