I think in some Countries you have to give a Notice but not in the USA. I dont know how a Union Contract Supercedes State Law because due to not giving my Job exactly a 2 week notice they still had to pay me for my Earned Vacation Hours but didn't have to pay me for my Earned Personal Hours. This happened over 15 years ago.
