I'm an introvert too, and I find that it's less about being shy but more about if being around people gives you energy or drains your energy. About the instagram thing. I noticed in mid january that I coudnt see anyones posts it was just constant ads. I was scrolling and didn't recognize the people in the pictures and realized they were all ads.

My cat functions kind of like an ESA, and my sister has one as well, so our pets HELP our mental health issues. You don’t have to be perfect to care for an animal. They care for us, too. My cat literally got me out of bed when I first got her, even if I was feeling anxious or depressed. Hugging and playing with her gives me happy feelings when I’m down. So don’t feel like you have to be perfect to have a pet :) Nobody is perfect.

This is exactly why I haven't posted any of my work to IG since 2018. I used to think that my photos (landscape photography) wasn't "good" if I didn't get X many likes or a feature on an aggregate IG page. And it was causing me to second guess all my shots. Now I'm just a hobbiest when it comes to photography and I enjoy that environment alot better.

It made me quite sad to hear that after accomplishing so much you still get anxious and question yourself and your work because of numbers. 😢 PLEASE NEVER DO 🌸 you are unique on this earth (like every other human) - there will never be anyone like you again. That’s amazing in itself. You yourself shared with us the gem that you had to keep going in the beginning even when you had no followers at all…. now you not only make your living with your art BUT you (with your example, your character, with just being you and sharing different aspects of your journey in your videos) encourage someone like me (across the globe) to not give up…. is that not an achievement enough? any reach issue is due to the algorithm. Especially if it's out of nowhere. Some areas now can set their timeline on following instead of home but i have no clue who actually has the option

I agree with the motivation bit. i fell into that rut of, i should only do things im motivated to do so that it can be as great as possible (or fun as possible what ever fits the situation) but especially if you are making money/monetising your work and art, you defiantly need a healthy bit of self discipline for sure. if we are talking motivation for hobbies that are done purely because its a fun or nice pass time, then sure wait for that motivation so you can get the most satisfaction out of it since usually that is what hobbies do for people. however, if we are talking work, or a hobbie turned job/money making way of living, its probably a little crushing to most artists to have to force it some times, I know for me its hard af, then you unfortunately have to make sure that there is a project or idea you can expand on to and fall back onto that maybe you don't feel as passionately as others just to push through or you can fail your own art business by falling into that 'I'm just not motivated' rut and that can leave a negative relationship with your art knowing that you might not have been able to hold through with the business you tried to create off your art. that's probably why I have heard a lot of artists warn others about trying to make a living or monetizing your art work, because that is likely where all thoes horror stories of people who claim they hate their work or hate what they do because they turned a passionate hobby into a job and they couldn't live up to the demand of keeping the business aspect afloat and it ruined their passion for their own art and it just became a chore to them. if motivation is the only thing that gets art out for you, then it is wise to not try and sell your art or make a living off of it, because the second you start selling it, everything changes and it only gets harder to stay motivated and if motivation is your only driving point, then you will burn out and not enjoy anything anymore and view yourself and your skills as a failure and likely quit it all. telling a creative they have to have self-discipline to force some things out sometimes to get the ball rolling can be so disheartening for new creators who are trying to make a living, but its true, unfortunately. you have to work on that healthy balance of inspired motivation and self-discipline small projects to get through the ruts or you are bound to crash and burn and that could lead to completely quitting entirly. as a noob nobody writer, I'm trying to find that balance since I cannot hold a normal 9 to 5 job like most adults in this world, so my entire future is riding on my works, but the second I decided to try and publish and make it my job, it all changed for the worst and I have gotten pretty depressed over it the past couple of years, but I'm starting to find that healthy balance of self-discipline and motivation and refusing to let my art go because I still love writing so much and I know I have so much I can do if I just have the discipline to focus more often and just force myself to get started most of the time, because just starting is sometimes 90% of the battle and once I get past that, it all flows out finally and I find that to be my current balance of discipline and motivation that gets my work done (well 'done' used lightly, I mean gets the work going I should say in my case XD) all that to say if you are selling or making a living off your art, you gotta rely more on some diciplin over motivation, and just to make things simpler(if possible, this works for me at least) Motivation is just a bonus, and not expecting my motivation to drive me makes the process a little easier because its not like I'm loathing myself for not being 'motivated' enough, I just tell myself, 'just start and if you don't like what you wrote, you still have revision to go back and change it' (but of course, that is a little more specific to my art as a writer specifically, traditional painting/drawing art may not have the same words of encouragement, but maybe in digital art there can be a similar thought process. Just to save yourself and your passion for your art, its just best not to associate your skills and your art's worth with whether or not you were motivated or inspired enough to make it. all forms of art is valid and valuable, even if you weren't feeling it as much, it still is going to be great practice that will help in the future instead of sitting and doing nothing and letting your skill wither away you know?)

The problem with Instagram is if you don't use it from a desktop computer you won't see all the post at least in my case and now Instagram may stop access to Europe since they asked to sell our data to US so maybe people like me will have to move to another app in the future
