It seems like a rare thing for a young actor to be so thoughtful and so articulate, with a deep fascination/curiosity about his chosen profession. His ability to closely examine a subject and his connection with it is notable.

It seems to me a long tradition of actors from NYC getting deep into the plays, characters, situation, psychology (Al Pacino, etc) starting in the 60s, 50s maybe ? (Actor's studio influence)

Timothee behaves in interviews like an actor who either did not receive media training or received it but did not take it seriously and I LOVE that. Most actors often sound bland and shallow when speaking about their roles , and he truly speaks from his heart about his projects.

Timothee likely gets media training. It's really easy to slip up and have people really run after little things you say. Also it doesn't stop you from being yourself. I still feel like he's being careful but he's almost 30 so he knows how to have a nice conversation too. In combination with trusting the interviewer to not let him slip up either. He only did this when it was the right environment. The only difference is that Timothee truly loves what he did here and likely all the movies he's been in. Other actors, especially older ones, are not always in love with what they're doing. So they have nothing to really say and hence come across bland.
@heatherbukowski2102

I think he 100% has media training and takes it seriously; he's pretty careful to avoid being offensive. But... he's also a rambling, kinda awkward dude. He even said in this interview that he doesn't feel he's a great speaker (I'd disagree, but he fo show can be very awk). What makes him so appealing imo is his positivity and enthusiasm, despite being a bit of a derp at times.

as a young guy from minnesota, it was so cool to hear him tell the story of landing at msp and being sort of in awe of the experience from the jump. then he goes and rents a toyota truck, and heads up i-35 in the winter with some ice involved, while listening to sun records' greatest hits, to go learn about and feel what bob felt and see the things he saw. then he confirms "minnesota nice" is still a thing, which warms my heart. it's just nice to feel seen sort of, as cliche as that is, cause its not often people like him come here in the winter to go on a road trip by themselves. honestly he was a little crazy to do that but at least it sounded like he got a true minnesota experience. im excited to see this film and im gonna continue to learn about bob and continue with his discogrpahy in the meantime.

Fascinating interview to get some insight on Bob Dylan biopic..huge respect to Timothee Chalamet explaining how he got himself to a place of authenticity to be able to step into that character that is a bit like watching paint dry.. but in turn a genius musician..i'm so stoked for this film..it sounds like we're in for a real treat. Thanks to Zane Lowe for always coming up with goods 👏🏽

Love Bob Dylan and I’m a fan of the people involved with this film, but I wasn’t that interested in seeing this story get a biopic treatment….until I saw this interview and realized the amount of work and passion that went into it. Now it’s on my most anticipated list

It’s great to hear Timothee continue to get so deeply involved in his work and express it so intelligently and eloquently. He’s a chameleon and there’s an endless list of different roles he can play. His agent/manager has guided him well and he has always worked with talented directors. I’ve seen just about all of his films and I’m excited to see this one. I think he’ll be great.

Love this kid. So down to earth. True new Yorker articulate talented actor. Am a devoted Dylan fan. Bob Dylan real name is Robert Alan Zimmerman. Genius. As a writer myself he is my inspiration. Imagery metaphors. One of my favorite songs sad eyed lady of the lowlands. Can't wait to see this movie. Tim is so enthusiastic and love how speaks about this role. 😊😊😊😊😊

Just a tremendous interview. My tastebuds are wetted to see the movie. Always loved Chalamet, it's really nice to get a real view of him, great person. Was really absorbed in his connection to who and where Bob Dylan is, in his own education and perspective about him. This idea - the beauty in/of the moment, is why.

As a Gen Z who grew up on him, I'm super excited to see this introduce a younger audience who may only be familiar with mainstream hip-hop/pop to Dylan. I think he's about to make yet another generation think critically, and that is just what we need right now.

As a lifelong fan of Bob Dylan, having my dad play me his old records and cassette tapes and then dissect the lyrical content with me and the actual meaning of it.. and being an artist, myself well-versed in classic rock, alternative, grunge, electronic underground basically everything that isn’t mainstream. I really hope that he does this role justice.

Great interview. Been listening to Bob since I was 16. His lyrics struck me like a lightening bolt. Your brain is either tuned to his music and work or it’s not. Please Timothee don’t seek out Bob. It’s never a good idea to meet your idols. All the muses were present at Bob’s birth. Can’t wait to see the movie.

Bob crosses 4 generations respectively. I remember my grandpa playing bob every time I was at his house, he once told me a story about putting his dad onto bob, then eventually my dad caught on and then finally me. Imagine 1 man having the ability to turn 4 generations onto your music and you don’t even know. Absolutely incredible, I look forward to Timothy’s performance of such a special song writer in American history.

That's an amazing story right there, and maybe Bob will be around for that 5th generation. In fact I feel torn a bit to see that this biopic could not wait another 20 years when it would be very respectfully a greater masterpiece, by the fact that Bob needs to be given the respect, the attention, the care and the dedication plus devotion he really should be allowed to be given. I think that would be in keeping with him having an ideal old age window of opportunity. Timmy, the talented enthusiastic actor is great. But that has nothing to do with the point I make here that everyone, including the younger generation should not take Timmy's fandom as identical or even close to Dylan the iconic artist himself. Sounds weird maybe but I feel it's still too soon, (always too soon) to give Bob his "secondary" image to people. Bob is a painter. Bob's life as a visual artist has perhaps just begun in seriousness. Let him paint and let him stay mysterious, that's what I feel. And his touring is unimaginable in so many ways. God bless Dylan forever.
