His fourth album, Made in Lagos, blends R&B and pop with the Afrobeats sound he helped pioneer, but the Nigerian star is determined to keep his sound rooted in Africa. Expressing his gratitude for being given the opportunity to work with artists like Beyoncé and Justin Bieber, he sensed a change coming, and after working on his record for over 3 years, he felt ready to rise to the top. Wizkid: I don’t see myself as that I am just person who love making good music. Interviewer: You being the first person to break into that billboard top 10 no one has ever done that. Wizkid: I am just making music I don’t see myself opening it I just feel I open the door and everyone is about to come in because they are lots of African artist in Nigeria amazing talents who are doing greats songs I am just making music and enjoying the flow so many young talents are coming. He can’t even brag even when they are giving him accolades what kind of man is this I can’t do all this in a year and be this calm as if I did nothing.
