im not the biggest fan of clairo, but her music is cool and can see her potential to being a big star in the pop world. some people are saying shes denying her privilege but she didn't, she even acknowledge her father and parents playing an important role in her success, shes just saying that her father is not responsible for people liking her music, its ultimately her. some people are not getting that shes clearly an artist who wants to be respected, wants to be taken seriously and wants to be judged on the merit of her music, not her dad or his industry connections getting all the credit for what she does for living. shes not here just to make a quick buck or do this all for the sake of getting some attention/clout, shes lives for her art. so no matter what you personally think of an artist and their come up, no matter how much resources a label pools into an artist, their success is still largely dependent on the music consumers and their support, and clearly clairo got many who really like her music. nothing wrong with her wanting to get her credit for her own music career. if you're gonna give it to her father and industry buddies, then fine, credit for marketing 100%. at least be fair and give her the credit for music that resonates with fans and listeners alike.
