Zane is one of the best interviewers in music. This interview was unlike any other that Brandy has done partially because she is so open but also because of his style and the love he has for what he does.
@PandorasTmrw4 жыл бұрын
This interviewer had so many great questions bravo!! Interviewers should take notes. If you are going to bring up difficult topics like Whitney, you have to be respectful of Brandy and do it in a manner that does not put her on the spot and take her back to that horrible time of her passing. This felt like a ‘REAL’ conversation between two people without cameras which was great I don’t feel like people get to really know who Brandy is because they don’t know how to connect with her through conversation.

Looking forward to this project 👏🏾🔥. Give Brandy her flowers 💐 💐💐. Glad her honesty is fully releasing as she's held back a lot and restricted her being. Wow! Such and honest and revealing interview. After watching this I realized that Brandy is more like me than not, even though she is a beautiful, intelligent, African American female... I on the other hand am about to a 53 year old, white man... She like me, always thought the Whitney Mariah duet should take place, but I feel it would be impossible because of how the music industry pit female artist against one another... and then when they did "When You Believe", it was epic... no duet will ever match it, IMO, I still get goosebumps when I play it. Many things she said in this interview struck a nerve, but the two that hit me the most was about music helping her through it, to me music is life, without it life isn't worth struggling through, music gets me through so much in life, I listen to it daily, I feel it is what keeps me from going crazy.... the other was when she said we're not perfect and as parents we want whats best for our kids and we need to be honest, we lead by example.... my son and our relationship has been strained for a few years now and through this interview, her words have given me some encouragement to sit down and write him a letter, so for that I want to thank Brandy, she is such a beautiful person inside AND out. Love you Brandy, you're such an inspiration to us all to learn to love ourselves and to do better! ❤❤❤❤❤

I think what most of these modern artists lack is passion.., of course they are driven and ambitious re: creating their music but they are also artists in an era where emotions are subdued and a “faded” delivery is what is popular. Brandy is from an era where artists had to be able to convey emotional depth in their music. Today, the lyrics do all the heavy lifting with the artist doing their best to sound spaced out, conversational and emotionally disconnected from the material🤷🏽♂️ Whether it’s trendy to subdue emotion or not, we still experience them so it’s no wonder Brandy still resonates in an age where feelings are treated as something you “catch” like Coronavirus lol.
