This incident is strikingly similar to my own experience. I am a retired physician and had income far below that of most physicians (about equal to that of a cabdriver) because I preferred science and low cost to conformity to organized medicine. My wife (marriage 2) took a great interest in me at first and later, during divorce proceedings, was disgusted with my actually low income. She threatened to keep my children from me if I didn't pay more in alimony and child support than the divorce court said I had to, and they cooperated with her. I said no and the estrangement is permanent now. Good riddance!

@lisasimpson3832 Жыл бұрын
Whoa. I figured she'd be the one getting in trouble for trying to keep the kids from you if you were paying the court ordered support. You should have filed a motion with the court. She had no right to demand more than the court ordered. I'm not sure why the court cooperated with her if that was your history as a physician. Usually courts don't take too kindly to people ignoring their orders. Did they suddenly decide your earning potential mattered more than your actual history of earnings?

@@terriupchurch2757 My children we kept from me, which sounds awful but (1) they wanted to stay away from me partially due to a female supremacist counselor (I filed a complaint against her with the licensure board, and it was eventually dismissed) who had actually encouraged them to pester me for high alimony and child support and so stated in legal proceedings during my licensure complaint (small wonder I am furious) and (2) due to their attitudes since then I want nothing to do with them. After all alimony and child support were paid, and they were adults, I offered them some monetary support and they began legal proceedings against me. I have already looked into restraining orders in case they try to reach me again.
