The AppliedAICourse attempts to teach students/course-participants some of the core ideas in machine learning, data-science and AI that would help the participants go from a real world business problem to a first cut, working and deployable AI solution to the problem. If you could build on your domain knowledge and current skills, you would not be treated as a fresher. But, you would not be treated as someone with 2 yr ML experience also. Based on your level of expertise that you build in ML , you can comfortably join in a non fresher role. We have seen many folks with many years of experience and many of them are not treated as freshers.

We conduct the first mock interview once you complete 15 assignments. We also closely mentor you for building two self case studies that go into your portfolio. We conduct one more mock interview once you complete all the assignments and then start the placements process. We make a few exceptions for candidates who perform very well in the first mock interview.

If you academic scores are very low, it makes sense to pursue an academic degree like a MTech or MS or a PGD to show an improvement. Some companies do take your academic percentages seriously, especially if they are on the lower side.

Six years is a lot of gap to justify to recruiters. Realistically, you should try and start as an intern right away in any role where you have skills. It could be any programming language or platform. Even to get an internship role, you should try and build a strong resume showcasing your projects you have done in the recent past and apply to hundreds of internship roles via websites like Inernshala.com. Slowly, over the ext 6-12 months, if you work hard and perform well as an intern, you could try to jump into a full time role. All the very best.

What is the approx salary a entry-level AI engineer like him will be getting?

A fresher in ML and AI with reasonable/average skills can get compensation of about 7 LPA. Again if the candidate is good at the underlying Math and ML algorithms and has good programming & problem-solving skills to crack top product-based companies, the compensations can go up to 18-20LPA, which some of our students have gotten. Please note that we cannot disclose the compensation of a specific candidate as companies may object to it. The numbers given above are what we observe across our student pool in the job market.
