YOU DIDNG TAKE THE PAPER OFF HOW DOES THAT WORK
@SwanAmity8 ай бұрын
The paper comes out of the appliqué pieces only when you are ready to stitch and then it is easy to pop it out. Until you're ready to stitch, the paper stays in to keep the piece stable and easily stored.

Do you leave the freezer paper as you stitched the applique on?
@SwanAmity3 жыл бұрын
You remove the freezer paper before you pin each piece on and stitch down. ❤️

trolley needle! brilliant! what are you using as an ironing surface? I was using a drafting board with a towel, but the towel has too much texture.
@SwanAmity7 жыл бұрын
Hi Brenda, I am using a travel ironing board from Omnigrid, but any small ironing board will work. If you're looking to make one, you can layer batting onto a hard surface, and top it all with a heat reflective fabric (often available at your local fabric store).

Where did you get that iron you used
@SwanAmity2 жыл бұрын
They are available on Amazon, but I now suggest that Quilters use the Oliso mini for applique. The original iron in the video puts your shoulder in an awkward position that can create issues over time.

Muchas gracias! I switched iron types not to long ago and now use the Clover Wedge Iron. Here is a link to what it looks like on Amazon. You can find the wedge irons a little more easily than the iron I was using in the video and the wedge iron is easier on your wrists over time. I hope this helps! www.amazon.com/Clover-CLO9200-Wedge-Iron/dp/B015NXHQRS/ref=asc_df_B015NXHQRS/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167164505512&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9218798139615343107&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030220&hvtargid=pla-306365104264&psc=1

Where can I get a trolley needle and small iron like that? I am just getting started.

Trolley needles are available from my website if you like. www.swanamity.com I have changed my mind about irons and now suggest The Clover Wedge Iron iron instead. Happy quilting!

У нас в России практически нет информации про бумагу для замораживания в аппликациях. Вы ее потом удаляете?

Hello. I'm from Russia. I do not understand the speech, but I'm watching the video carefully. If possible, leave a comment. How do you moisten the fabric?

Thank you for watching. Please feel free to direct any questions you have to me. I am moistening the fabric with a liquid starch in this video.

@@SwanAmity Do you ever need to clean or wash the board?
@SwanAmity Жыл бұрын
@@annlittle6193 the board will eventually build up starch and discoloration. I replace the cover of my travel ironing board every couple years due to the volume of applique I usually do, but using a washable cover is an excellent choice.

You forgot to finish these piece
@SwanAmity8 ай бұрын
When working with applique that will be layered with other pieces, we only turn over the portions of the piece that will not be under another piece. If you're referring to the two ears I didn't turn in the video, they were not forgotten, but turning them in the video would have just been repetitive instead of instructive.

We in Russia have almost no information about paper for freezing in applications. Do you then delete it?
@SwanAmity7 жыл бұрын
After you have turned the seam allowance, you lift the edge of the seam and pull the freezer paper out of the piece. It will hold its shape. If you watch some of my other videos, you will see me remove the paper to add a lining fabric.
