Hey I’m on my second year of my 1g, is it possible for me to get an extension afterwards, some of my colleagues have an extension but I’m not to sure about it

Hi, yes, you can apply after your Stamp 1G expires, but it’s ideal to apply when you have at least 4 months remaining on your Stamp 1G. The department currently takes around 6 to 8 months to process applications and provide a response

I had jobs during my Stamp 1G time but lost it just about two months before Stamp 1G expiry (time when my employer had actually promised to file for my critical skills). I got extension but now unable to find a job. So is it possible to apply for another extension after it has been mentioned in the letter that this is the last Stamp 1G extension? Also, can one join a company while waiting for extension response?

@queenie Yes you can try for another extension, a lot of people have done this and received more time on Stamp 1G. Yes you can join a company when you are awaiting a response on your Stamp 1G extension appeal on one condition i.e you should have the acknowledgement letter with your reference id with you. This letter is received 15-20 days after you submit your Stamp 1G extension application.
