I believe it's okay to flirt with intention (letting someone know you like them). Flirting just to be flirting (I think) is a waste of time and could be damaging to both parties.

No. Christians shouldn't flirt, tease, dance, or do anything because everything is a sin. It's worldly. And remember you shouldn't love the world or anything in it. People, animals, trees, food are all in the world. So you shouldn't love these things. If you're not reading the bible you're sinning. So you should basically just lock yourself in a room with no windows or doors and just read the bible until you die. Because everything outside of that is a sin. At least that's how some Christians make you feel.

Yes...in and with great humility, Ruth laid herself at Boaz's feet offering herself to the one who showed her great favor and knew he would never violate her. She was basically saying that he was her king and in that culture to do that was a sign of complete submission. Boaz was an honorable man and not only offered her his covering, he stopped at nothing to redeem this woman who was a pearl and he treated her like one...precious and valuable. Thanks for sharing your story!!! I like the authenticity you and your wife share!!

If you're being genuine, taking an honest interest in someone, either romantic with the opposite sex or just friendships with those of the same sex, it's called social skills. And I have noticed many singles in the church are lacking in the basics of this.

Wow, great topic! I say, Flirting(non-vulgar) with intention with A PARTICULAR individual with the idea of letting that person know that you like him (or her if you're a guy) is not bad, as long as you're not degrading yourself and giving the wrong impression. Doing the opposite of that, i.e. flirting for the sake of attention can be all together manipulative...I think this is called being a Tease, which can cause major problems. Now Mark, I think that this topic can get even more complicated when you factor in cultural differences and upbringing-just within the states alone, a Southerner may not define flirting in the same way a Mid-Westerner might. That being said, let's not even get into differences when foreign culture comes into play. I say if you're going to flirt, do so intentionally and with one person in mind, therefore avoiding confusion. This doesn't mean you can't be respectfully social (saying hello with a causal smile, for example), but be obvious with the one you want to relay the message to and go from there. Mark, your example as to how you approached your wife is a perfect example. Kudos to you!

Thank you for some clarity on the issue. This was something I was thinking about, but didn't know where to even look for that in the Bible. It seems There is a lot of discernment, but I would advise if you are a believer, not to flirt with non-believers. Even if you both are single, you are providing a poor Christian testimony, and since you can't commit to a nonbeliever, don't start a flame in someone you know you can't have. I say this from experience and realize the errors of that.

I like your videos and believe your share sound biblical wisdom. I am however very frustrated at a continued theme (not just here, but overall) of women having to "make the extra step" to show interest. I'm referring to initial contact. I wouldn't categorize my self as traditional, but I don't embrace the "I'm an independent woman and I don' t need men" argument either. As such, I agree that a woman should be responsive if she is actually interested in the man that approaches. Men I've observed both personally (and at a distance) appear to be very insecure and fearful of the POTENTIAL of rejection. It is as if they want the guaranteed slam dunk without taking any risks. What happened to being strong and courageous?

Just be understanding if the other does not flirt back than stop. He can be attracted to u but he should really NOT put much emphasis on that part. maybee just a small you look great type of remark but in a colorfull way. but there are other ways to flirt. a flirter seeks a positive reaction but if hes really interested He might just be probling to see what u like that u might let him inside your world.

As a girl, i find "friendly, outgoin" is not enough. When it comes to a guy interested in me, i will want him to be fun (has a life, unordinary dates), doing act of service (just a small one like holding your bag is enough), be funny and and smart. Flirting is really for fun, we shouldnt make it a number 1 priority, but it works as "salt" in dates If youre a girl, you can get him a nickname for him, like sleepyhead if he likes sleeping. Thats the example of smooth flirting to get your man

Flirting with the one that moves you and you feel like God directed you to is not sinful. Don't flirt in a worldly way. Giving compliments that let them know that you see them, no problem. Flirting with multiple people, bad idea. Be focused. I realize that people flirt with multiple people because they don't want to put themselves at risk emotionally. The problem is, these people you are flirting with see the others you flirt with. One of those people might have feelings forming and be completely turned off and confused. They could think you were singling them out but then you go and flirt in the same way with others.

I think the churches, especially where I live, need to form and keep single Bible studies and single events. They are so 'worried' about people sinning that they do not serve the single community at all but push it back and away instead of addressing and helping. They ignore it, think it will go away and treat singles like they are leopards. It's hard to find a good church that cares about the single community, especially for older singles.

Sorry there's no 'Holy Flirting'. Flirting for a Christian is vain and is different from communicating interest or fondness for someone. There's so many ways to let someone know you like them without flirting.

Like what exactly? I'm not being facetious; I genuinely want to know the answer. I'm a woman and if a guy seems to be sending out signals that he likes me, how would I signal back or respond to him? I suppose that I could just ask him outright if he likes me, but that seems like a good way to get embarrassed and/or make things awkward.

Christians can meet by words, etc. These silent presents, fake romantism, love from 1st sign,gazes,etc....are meaningless.Brotherhood, friendship ,sisterhood ,openness is better.

There is a christan woman who wants to adopt my husbands children. And i have never met this woman. She took my husband to church. Now this womam called my husband on fathers day which is okay but to ask him to go out amd hes married. And STILL haven't met the wife, because she doesn't or even invite the wife. She is trying to win his heart and knows his weaknesses. Is she a christan? Is she disrespectful? Is she trying to win the husband. Why is she doing all of this? And he doesn't even want this older woman and hes 33yrs.
