I've been extremely isolated for about 3 years now (no friends or family). I've realized how this happened is through the abuse of a narcissist. I used to have many friends and be full of life. I am the complete opposite now. This is the first time me speaking out about it and I feel my time of depressing hopelessness isolation is over. God Bless All.
@MeltWithU Жыл бұрын
My friend, I was going to write the exact same thing about my life. You essentially mimicked the same thing I went through with my ex-wife, and like you, I had so many friends, and was so outgoing and happy, go lucky, and she robbed me of all of that over too many years that I let her do it. fortunately, for me… I was very aware of narcissistic behavior, and knew how to handle the situation in which I caught her cheating and recorded every moment of everything she said, and everything she did so that I had proof positive why the relationship ended, and I made sure everybody in her life knew it before I left. Her parents loved me along with the rest of her family, and I’m sure she’s lied to them even after they found out what she was doing to me. But, the good thing is, I am out of that relationship. My biggest regret is all of the time that I let her get away with what she did and it unfortunately changed who I am. So I am right there with you, and God bless you and your journey after dealing with the same. When I read your story, I felt like I was reading mine. I had to make sure I didn’t write it myself some night and forget that I did. Lol. Wishing you the best.

What I have learned is sometimes others have to be of encouragement to themselves. Some people can really pull you down to where they are if you are not careful. We all mean to do good for others, but sometimes God wants us to allow others to depend on him and not of our own good works.

@Stargazing Catgirl - You have showed in your statement what prayer is... Conversing with God. A true relationship with Our Creator. It's fulfilling your purpose being with Him. That's the whole purpose of Him creating us. Getting to know His heart and by doing so, you begin to have a heart like His. It takes time and what a great time it becomes. That time together changes us, changes our perspective of things, changes our everything about Life. It opens our eyes to everything we should see mostly because we see Truth more readily for the first time. You see it now. And then you've shared it. Time with God becomes what we long for and feel empty when we don't spend time with Him. I'm so thankful for your commenting about your experiences. May everyone seeking a deeper relationship with God, to be patient as you have been. Thank you..,

Two people I thought were my best friends abandoned me out of nowhere this year (one struggled with jealousy and the other literally moved across country and disappeared on everyone). I have been celibate almost 10 years and I turn 31 in 2 weeks. Ive never had a boyfriend and my parents are deceased (my mother family is spread out and not close). Isolation has been my entire existence. It’s almost impossible to imagine different. I channel my grief in a godly way: through my nonprofit and my community work. And through loving the friends I do have. I mostly have everything delivered to my home and I work from home so I get tempted to never leave the house. I pray God busts me out of isolation in 2024.

@@TyJeanee hi!!! I do! God has brought me to Dubai, The Bahamas, NYC, and LA this year to see this beautiful world. All with my friends. Im ashamed to admit I was ungrateful for all the deep love in my life because of the jealousy and sadness of a few people who were projecting their ridiculousness onto my own. Seeing this comment today was actually extremely timely. I have a book coming out from a major publisher. I thought someone I knew would be happy for me. Instead she was angry it wasn’t happening to her (I had no idea she was even interested in the endeavor) and it resulted in the end of our professional relationship. But my work, my nonprofit, my family, and my friends are all the absolute best they have ever been. My life is such a glorious representation of God’s love and grace right now. I’m learning a hell of lot about just living. There’s really no blueprint to it. I pray you’re well and thank you so much for sparing a kind thought towards me. If you wouldn’t mind, could you pray that God stills my soul over that person’s jealousy. I still have to see her around and it does make me sad how things turned out. God bless you!

On December 31 2023 God whispered to me "From now on, you get to write your own ticket in life" and in one second, the chains that kept me bound since 2017 melted away into nothing and i became a brand new person with limitless possibilities stretched out in front of me. At 29 years old I thought my life was over and I ruined everything. At 36, God unified every stray disparate thought I had in my mind and unified them all into one great glorious purpose and freed me from my bondage. Thank you Jesus! I have avoidant personality disorder. I do long for intimacy with people very much, but fear of being hurt keeps me alone. This opposition of needs causes a constant state of wanting, but not being able to having. Some find it easy to connect with people and be extroverted, social; others need solitude to remain in their comfort zone. God could easily give me a lot of friends, but it wouldn't help me much, because I wouldn't be able to handle it. God's first priority for my life is my relationship to Him, and not other people, so I have to accept the loneliness, and seek the presence of Him to mitigate it. And He does. Being alone for me means peace of mind and clarity of thought. Just one incongruent friend in my life is enough to create confusion, worry, and even anger. I just can handle much social life unless it is in a way I can fully control. I'm just too sensitive, too fragile. But not for God, and that is the comfort and the upside in all this.

Thank you for sharing the temporary nature of isolation. The intimacy is great but we know we were created for more.

This is interesting. I’ve been hearing a lot about the wilderness season. That’s definitely where I am and I’d never heard of that concept until I got here. (I know those Bible stories but never made the connection until recently about how they were all isolated or sent into the wilderness.) I left a very long toxic abusive marriage and literally ended up in an area that was pretty far out from where I had been living and far outside of the city. When I first moved here I didn’t even like it because I was so used to the luxuries and convenience of my old neighborhood. It’s still not quite my cup of tea but I’m grateful to be removed from that situation.

Well I'm late for the course, but to show my appreciation for all you do I just ordered your book. Actually I'm hoping after reading it that maybe it will be easier to find the woman God has for me. Thanks so much Mark and wish me luck.

Thank you Mark for this teaching a right on point. I asked a woman out she didn't respond. I'm also taking a break and just listening to the Lord for a while. Letting him make straight my path thank you for the teaching. God bless.

God led me to remove myself from online dating for a season. Recently in prayer I asked if I should now return to it after 6 months. As clear as anything I heard him say “ not yet, you are not strong enough yet”. I’ve spent the past 9 months being in the Word, praying and connecting with other Christian’s in my church community. It has been amazing and I feel so at peace. I know that when the season is right I will her Him speak again.

I felt this. I’ve been in isolation from family and friends for about 6 months. During my isolation I’ve been praying and doing a lot of repentance. I literally just prayed yesterday that God release me from this place but I feel so alone and I’m just ready to be social again.

I honestly need a holiday after 2 years in Isolation and weave myself back into society. Talk to people and forget about where I was, start thinking and mixing up interacting with different kinds of people. Got to start talking to people instead of to self. Jesus and David are the ones I often refer to. Transition is very important here.

Thanks Mark, all of those points were relevant ti me when I was on a short term mission trip in West Africa for 9 months last year. Even had the privilege of doing the email coaching with you. Also half way through your new book.

So cool Luke. West Africa is near and dear to my heart as that is where I met Bethany in Liberia. So glad the Lord used that time of isolation for your good and his glory. And if you enjoy the book, it would be a huge blessing to me if you could leave a review on Amazon if that's where you bought it from. That helps a lot in helping other people find the book and read it too. God bless!

@ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger oh definitely. Really enjoying it. Got the audio version. I was in Senegal at the time with some mercy ship folks. Was also getting the email coaching from you. Do it was a good time be in a completely different context to think through how I've approached relationships.
