Applying for certification in Ontario is not connected to the immigration process. With respect to the Ontario College of Teachers, you may begin and complete the application process even if you live outside of Canada. Regarding the evaluation of documents, they are already assessed by ICAS. Do I need another evaluation' Thank you

We do not accept assessments of your credentials done by ICAS or other third-party organizations. We will evaluate your credentials according to Ontario regulations once all your required documents have been received and deemed acceptable.

If you have requested an evaluation from World Education Services (WES) and had your original transcripts or documents sent to them directly from the institution you attended, you can ask WES to provide us with a copy. You can find country-specific information here: www.oct.ca/becoming-a-teacher/internationally-educated-teachers/country-info/country-p/country-pakistan If your teacher education program was conducted entirely in English, you will need to arrange to have a letter sent directly to the College from the head of the institution that you attended. The letter needs to confirm that the language of instruction at the time you took the program was either entirely in English or entirely in French. Every applicant to the College must provide a Canadian Criminal Records Check (CRC), even if they’ve never lived in Canada. A CRC from UAE or from Pakistan would not be acceptable. If you live outside of Canada, you can obtain a Canadian Criminal Records Check through the website of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/steps-getting-a-certified-criminal-record-check).

Do i have to provide Statement of professional standing(Letter of recommendation as statement of professional standing is not issued in India) from all the schools/institute where i have taught or the last institute where i was teaching.

You must arrange for the head of the last elementary or secondary school where you taught in India to send a letter of reference directly to the Ontario College of Teachers. The letter must be current. It must list the dates and length of your employment as a teacher and confirm that you were never suspended for any disciplinary reason and that your conduct was satisfactory. Within 10 business days of submitting your application and paying the applicable fees, you will be provided with a list of required documents with instructions through your Document Status page. Yes, the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Core is an accepted language proficiency test. On a single test, you must have a minimum overall score of 69 with minimum scores of 69 in reading, 69 in listening, 69 in writing and 69 in speaking. Test results are valid for two years. The College requires proof of your identity. A copy of an official document must show your first, middle and last names at birth, and date and place of birth. For Proof of Identity, please submit a copy of one of the following documents (or submit copies of more than one if needed, containing the information above): birth certificate, passport (must list all names to be accepted), Certificate of Indian Status or Indian Status Card, Certificate of baptism if born in Québec or in Newfoundland or Labrador before January 1994, Permanent Resident Card (front and back) , Canadian immigration record and visa (front and back) or Record of Landing (front and back). The following documents are not acceptable as proof of identity: driver’s licence, Ontario health card, or Canadian citizenship card.
