Out of curiosity, are there different ways of saying goodbye in Russian based on if you’re planning on seeing them again? Au revoir typically means “until we meet again”, where adieu “until god”, basically meaning you’ll never see them again. My french is very very rusty, so I don’t know if you already said this 😬

Hey Mark ☺️ To be honest your comment made me rethink what I've been teaching all the french-speaking people out there as I realised that "adieu" should actually be translated to russian as "прощай" (proschyai) and can be translated to English like "goodbye" (in more like "permanent" type of goodbye). So, that's the alternative of saying goodbye in Russian, for example. As for the "пока", that I'm talking about in the video, I would translate it to English more in a way of "bye bye, see ya". So, that's the other way of saying goodbye. До свидания, that I mention in the video as well, is one of those words that can be translated to French literally, which I do - au revoir, so it literally means "until we meet again". I can't really come up with any other ones, except for maybe one that Russians can use in formal, everyday life speech: "увидимся", which literally translates as "we will see each other" and can be translated more "beautifully" to English as "see you!" Hope this is of any interest 😅 Talk soon!!
