Yeah! TripleSeven 300 ER is the absolute top! Far above all other planes- engineering & technological miracle. Perfect video, both departure and approach!

That's so cool how you can hear the wind instantly the moment Slats are activated. It just shows drags are being created.

Watch that wing tip dance around and the cabin doesn't even feel it. I'd love to fly on one of those.

Shortly after we lowered the landing gear we flew through a bit of turbulence. Definitely felt that one, but fortunately filming these videos is forgiving in the sense that a few inches camera movement here and there isn’t noticeable because the wing and engine are comparatively much further away

A couple of birds go by around the 8:26 mark and appears they are at a slighly higher altitude than the aircraft.

Yup! American has been using their wide bodies for more domestic flights since the international demand is lower

I fly between MIA & JFK on AA's 777 often. The flights are almost always full.

wings look so weird without winglets :/ looks like something is missing

I think it depends which wing I’m looking at. If I’m looking at a 737 or 757 wing and it doesn’t have a winglet, it does look like something is missing. For 777s, it’s more about the raked wingtip. So if I’m seeing a 777-200 or -300 wing, which doesn’t have the extra raked wingtip like the -300ER, it does kind of looks like something is missing.

Do they even make money running wide-body aircraft on short-hauls like this? I know they have to reposition aircraft but is it safe to say single flights like this are at a loss?

Actually, back at the time this was shot, this was a regularly scheduled flight. JFK and MIA are two of American’s hubs so if the demand is there, it’s fine to use widebodies. Although this was shot during the pandemic so they probably were losing money because no one wanted to fly. But they had to keep their widebodies flying somehow during that time

A 777 on a short haul flight like this? No wonder the climate is collapsing.

Actually, it can be shown that for the same aircraft type, fuel burn is almost always less for shorter flights than longer flights. For example, for within aircraft comparison, a 777-200ER on a medium haul flight (1750-3400 nmi) burns 6.96 kg/km vs 7.42-7.57 kg/km on long haul flights (>6000 nmi). For the 737 MAX 8, 2.71 kg/km for short haul (
