Yeah, i don't have any problems with queer characters in media and even an institution like Dr. Who has to go with the time, but (and it's maybe a little bit too early after watching only the first 3 episodes) they've made Dr. Who to a Series about Gays, Trans and nothing else. I know it's a sci-fi show, but shouldn't it be somehow a part of our universe? We have the world wars and the Beatles, the Time the Themse froze and people used the unusual thick ice to build big Tents and small houses on it to sale their stuff and so on. Why is the percentage of Gays/Lesbians and Trans people so high? It is almost impossible to find a scene without these minorities. Representation is important but I don't wanty children to think that everything was better in the good old times. That's the same with cutting out racial slurs and terrible things that happened during the times of the slave trade and segregation. They are destroying history and I know a lot people who're getting their information from the big screen or from TV. And if you're even rewriting Tom Sawyer and take out all the bad racist stuff that happened during that time, you're actually making the world worse and more racist.

Just make it realistic. Don’t show a positive or negative attitude towards lgbtq+ on the part of the show just treat them like normal people. And have people who are against it too because those people exist as well. Just don’t shine a cringily negative light on them like Chibnall did with that Trump character

Bro did not just say to include characters who are against LGBTQIA+ people (and not to shine a negative light on them). I guess you think we should have racist characters too where their views aren't shown as negative. Normalizing bigotry is not what a show like Doctor Who should be doing.

Doctor who is an alien. Very old, silly and wise. Humans are like his favourite pets or young dumb children. No one wants to see someone coming on to their pets etc it's wrong. Humans can do whatever they do. As long as that core element is the same, then we are cool.

@@danburke6568 This is just another way to say "Why do they always have to be in our face about it" which is just a thing people say when they have to recognize that someone different or queer exists. Next will be comments about people wanting to Identify as chickens or cats. And honestly - get to know your history, everyone assumed in the 1970's that the Doctor had a thing with Romana because he was traveling with a female Timelord; meanwhile in REAL LIFE he had an affair with Lala Ward; 10 and Rose... THAT happened; River and the Doctor, Rory and Amy, etc. Romance or the possibility of it, has become part of the "lore."
