Isn't it incredible that such a great camera does not offer a flippable screen? Canon had this in cheaper cameras but not top of the line like 1dx and the 5d series. Now they all have it. Yes, the screen in a H is nice and large but you have to be a yoga master to use it in many situation. Merry Christmas and thank you for the inspiration. You have taught me quite a bit.

Nice to see you start the change of system for the right reasons, you have used your Pentax system to destruction which is a good example of how it should be. Looking forward to new images from the new system.

What a great set of images from 2024, Simon. Loved the hogweed shots too (one of my favourite subjects when I get out and about in nature). And your new membership scheme is well worth a fiver a month. Looking forward to more inspirational nature photography from you next year. Happy Christmas from your one-and-only jazz-photography fan.

Thank you for another great video, Simon. I am enjoying your ebook! I really got a chuckle at your excitement with the new features in the Hasselblad. Isn't technology great! I hope you are able to find a used Hasselblad that fits your budget. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Health New Yer!.

To get round the problem of not having a flip up screen (mine is a canon 5D MK4) I've got a waist level viewer/ finder that slides onto the viewfinder. It helps a lot, particularly with macro at ground level. Maybe there's something similar for hasselblad? Thank you again for your wonderful images simon

Firstly Happy Christmas to you and your family. Great images they always give me inspiration to go out and look for something different so thank you. You never know Santa might bring you that Hasselblad camera 🫰🏻Looking forward to what you have in store for 2025. All the best for the New Year.

@@annettethomas5781 I doubt it Annette. Even Santa’s pockets aren’t that deep and the elves in Sweden don’t seem to have a contract with Santa for some reason. Happy Christmas to you too.

Hi Simon, is your ebook in PDF format? I know the Hasselblads were given to those with very high subscriber counts, but Hasselblad should realise that demonstrating what that camera can really achieve is just as important. It would shine in your hands!

I'm planning to replace my Sony a7r IV (664 g) with the a7cr (515 g) early next year, because I find it too big and heavy. 😁

Beautiful hassleblad from your friend But did you know that the Pentax K3 Mark 3 has a fully functional touch screen exactly the same as that hasselblad if you didn't now you know but there's one major major major differences it's not a medium format
@SimonBoothPhotography7 сағат бұрын
@@cgriggsiv and the screen is small by comparison. I had a gentleman bring one of these to a workshop recently and yes it’s very nice, but it’s not MF.
@cgriggsiv7 сағат бұрын
@@SimonBoothPhotography Very true on that part it is not full frame nor is it even close to a medium format The only thing that's got going for it is a touch screen in my opinion anyways and there's not even a flippy screen

Fujifilm GF-X... 🤩 Hasselblad Bank Account Breakers... ☺ I would love to have a Hasselblad too... BUT... will the older ones have IBIS and will they have been exposed to elements for too many years like your Pentax... and lens converters are a compromise... sorry Simon I am not with you on the choice... but enjoy it if it works for you 🙂 auto focus stacking works great... I remember 40-45 years ago when people suggested an auto focus lens was not very good because they preferred manual focus 🙂 not sure I can see a qualitative difference in today's images and your Pentax ones 🙂
@SimonBoothPhotography3 сағат бұрын
@@davebenson1504 Nothing’s going to change in the autofocus front Dave. Manual all the way for me. In terms of the adaptor. I believe they’re absolutely fine on the longer focal length lenses and it certainly seems to be the case with the HC 120mm macro. Compromise is not something I’m prepared to negotiate on at all when it comes to photography. I just feel the Pentax has done what it needed and had they upgraded it, I’d have stayed with them.

that's a shame as I liked the organic look the Pentax gave your images. but - I'm sure the H will look just as lovely if these first examples are anything to go by. I used to shoot Fuji GFX (a 50R and 100) but always lusted after a H after bumping into a photographer once in Porthcawl who had an X1D. I thought it just looked so lovely 🙂 who said "shallow" at the back?!?!
@derarchinaut6 сағат бұрын
I only use APS-C (Pentax) myself and don't want to compare myself to you in terms of technology and ability. Despite all the arguments, I don't know whether I would go your way. A modern full-format camera offers almost unlimited possibilities for moderate money. Full-format and APS-C sensors are so highly developed today that they are far superior to an older medium-format camera. I think you would be better off with a modern Canon, Nikon or Sony in full format. Or even with Fuji medium format.
@ronboe632551 минут бұрын
It really is too bad Pentax had not refreshed their medium format. I suppose with Hassy and Fuji in the market their market share would be too small to make it profitable. Even if they did you may find it didn't feel like the old Pentax and prefer the Hassy anyway, Being a bit older than you I "settled" for the full frame mirrorless - medium format being wasted on me. Plus they just don't fit my use case. That said, if you could afford a 2nd camera for light work that would be something to explore.
