How approval status field created in Leave request object? I got confused here beacuse it is pic list type field with values mention in it though they are not visible to leave creator during leave submittion.How this can be achieved like values not visible but will be populated after approvers action. Thanks

This is by far the most helpful video on approval process ever. I have been looking for some good resource, luckily i found it. I have seen many Salesforce videos, but your way of teaching and explaining is very very good and effecient. Many people will try to explain all the scenarios in one or two steps, which is not an efficient way to understand. Really appreciate your time and effort on this video. Thanks for the video. Challenges facing in this useCase. --> Even though record is locked after submission. But employee scott is able to edit the record. Solution: Make sure Employee Scott has different profile and in that ''Modify all'' should be unchecked.

Good Video... I have few queries. 1. User should not be able to set the start date in the past 2. It should not be possible to set the duration longer than 3 calendar weeks in a row 3. The duration should only calculate with working days (Mon - Fri) 4. Each employee has a total of 30 days of vacation per year 5. The current balance of vacation days of the employee needs to be visualized leftover vacation days cannot be < 0

Very good explanation with examples. However, all tie to specific manager and vp, so if enterprise has many roles and levels of hirachey, how can we make universal approval process by using role? That way it would be one process across the enterprise and not have to create person specific approval process. Assume a change like Alina got promoted and new manager comes in her place, the process breaks, isn't it?

I didn't understand one thing. I set up an approval process, then I went with a user into the record, edited the record and clicked the button to submit the 'approval. I logged in with the approver and rejected the request. However, the changes made remained. How come?

What about a queue? Can a user with a Salesforce Platform license pick an approval request from a queue? I tried to do that but my salesforce platform user is not able to see the approval requests in a queue. The salesforce platform user gets notifications and an Email about the approval request but is not able to see it in List View (queue)... any clue why this is the case?
