APR Stage 2 MK1 Octavia VRS: The OG tuner car of India turned upto 11! | AutoCulture

The Skoda Octavia VRS MK1 is possibly the first mainstream turbocharged performance to ever be sold in India. With its impressive 150 horsepower from a 1.8L Turbo engine, the Octavia VRS MK1 was a force to be reckoned with back in the day. Fast forward to 2022, the Octavia VRS has now depreciated quite a lot which means it is an attainable performance car for the masses now with prices anywhere between 2-4 Lacs depending on the condition. This particular example we have gotten our hands on is a APR Stage 2 Octavia VRS MK1 which has been built at N1 Racing & KS Motorsports in Mumbai. Aahh my first car. The mk1 vrs. I had a silver. Bone stock though but still a killer driver for a 24 year old. Have a etuner stage 2 passat 1.8 tsi and a x3 3.0d and e60 530i and lc120 prado 4.0 v6 now. Cheers and keep up the great content 👍

If maintained correctly, these cars won't break down. We have a mk1 vrs that's runnin stage 2 + hardware. It has a bilstein b8 and 18 inch alloys and wide tyres. My brother use it for his daily office commute. The car is terrific and butter smooth. Pro tip: Change all the hoses to silicone.

Get off your high horse bro. "She is just expensive darling and not for everyone" lol Its a Skoda and not a Pagani. That car was around 13-15 lacs back when it was released. Other companies like Honda Toyota made sedans with similar power and performance and yet it is as reliable as it is today. I have a 16 years old Accord which works perfectly fine like a new car would. One of my friend had the same VRS model, and he was tired fixing his car every few weeks with either the timing belt, gearbox issue, faulty ECU etc etc. and mind you he just like me is a car enthusiast having old Volvo XC 90 V8, Accord V6 2010, Camry. He gave up on VRS and sold it after few years.
