What most ppl don't get about this song is that it is intended to be that "theatrical" with all the orchestra and the style of singing, the main difference with the original version and the one's with floor, is that in here the vocalist (Tarja) becomes the fifth instrument she complements the band. It's not a song about the singer and how shows off from the band, it's a song about a union between the five instruments. To me this will always be the best version. Although Floor sings this song well, I will always have my preference for Tarja because I started listening to NW with her. Have you heard its beginnings more power metal? I recommend Wanderlust (year 2000) or stargazers (1998) with Tarja. It is iconic and very innovative for its time.

I would like to suggest the song "Beauty of the beast". It is as iconic as the "Ghost love score". So far there is only a version with Tarja. I recommend the studio version as a first experience because the live videos available have poor recording quality, even on remastered ones. You would miss many elements of the song if you watched the live version first. Here is the studio version link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqjIo56lbb2Sl7c . About the comparison between the versions of "Ghost love score" by Tarja and Floor, I think there are very marked differences. In the original version, the choirs, the orchestra and the backing vocals recorded by Tarja are quite strong. Unlike that, in Wacken there are no such backing vocals and, in addition, the choirs and orchestra are much lower and almost inaudible at times. However, Floor added a vocal snippet to the end of the song that doesn't exist in the original version.

One of the greatest songs ever written. I think big massive part of this song is the orchestra and the choir. In Wacken somehow the orchestra and choir are hardly to be heard as you hear here. Floor made the song something of her own but this is still how Tuomas wrote it. One version you should also check out is Floor in Buenos Aires 2012, thst is one of her best singing ever on this song. Thomas has been asked to do that many times with orchestra and choir but looks like it is quite difficult to do, and I say it should be in Finland.

For me, it's very sad to see Emppu and Tarja leaving the stage holding each other, because 4 songs after this show of affection and friendship, she would be fired. I love Floor Jansen and everything she has done for Nightwish, but this version, especially on this show, makes me very emotional.

@@NightwishArena Well, find A Day Before Tomorrow video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/opykkHZvesRgbrM It is video that band filmed last 2 weeks of that tour (something like Please Learn the Setlist in 48 Hours" video, but much smaller scale from Tarja era) and there is shown how bad wibes they had in between concerts. But they lived different lives on stages and behind them. When they were on stage, they knew they can rely on eych other, so in that time, they were in friendly space, having great time, but few minutes after that, that stage dream was broken and working together behind the curtain became impossible for them. I belive, that if they'd broke up with her in different way than they did, they might still be frieds, or even better friends then they were as bandmembers, but they couldn't have both and in the end they didn't had any of that. And only way for them was to move forward and don't look backor break entirely. And they thakfully choosed to move forward, learn from their mistakes and even that was bumpy ride, in the end it brinked them where they are now, and lets face it, they are in their highest now. (even without Marco that actually hurts me greatly, more than Tarja at that time). And Tarja have her own career she always wanted. So whatever pain it must get them all, maybe that pain was necessery for all of them to unlock their full potencial. Life is not easy, but road they choosed, took them into right place in the end and mybe, if they choosed different path, nothing of that what came after that day, that show, nothing of it may became true.

Tuomas back in 2008 was going to book the Royal Albert Hall here in the UK and we were going to get Nightwish with an orchestra/choir. However the Royal Albert Hall itself was overbooked for about three years straight so we got the Imaginaerum movie instead. Just to point out we would’ve had Anette on lead vocals. Between Beauty of the Beast and Ghost Love Score are the GOAT Music genres be damned. The last time we had confetti was during the dark Passion play world tour when this song was performed in 2009. I really like floor, especially from her after forever/revamp days but I have a stylistic preference towards Tarja. The performance in question was at the hartwall Areena in Finland on October 21 2005 and was Tarja’s Final show before her dismissal the same day. Everybody was 27-29 at the time with the exception of Marco who was 39, I was 20 when this CD/DVD set got released and 19 when it was filmed, I’m 35 now. Really enjoyed this. In the original version the choir was the Greek choir and was in the forefront the way it was originally written. The choir was way back in the mix in Wacken but if you listen to the Tampere version with Floor the choir is brought forward again. And she changes the ending to end with a cry. Maybe you could do Tampere next year.

This song is so iconic so popular than even Yugio h Abriged used it in one of their episodes with Mukoba chasing that psychic duelist siblings that was cheating from a roof top. It gives me such a pirates feeling coz of that Pirate video of this song that how I find out about it. It's one of nightwish longest songs and really hitting the score of nightwish best songs. I love all the vocalists of nightwish have their own super long song. Ghost Love Score obviously Tarja song og. Anette sing her pendulum and scaretale those are pretty long plus meadows of heaven. Then Floor has her shudder before the beautiful and Greatest show on earth. I really love these really long songs coz it feels like u watching on a movie too. A long story from a book. I've been a Nightwish fan ever since I was a 10 year old lad in Finland, when the album Once came out in 2004 -- but I have to say I prefer Floor's live version of Ghost love score. Especially the powerful, long high note she finishes the song with is just insane -- which is completely lacking in Tarjas live version. Tarja does give her own magic to the song too and I feel like certain melodic parts are more well represented in this version. Both are honestly phenonemal, but while I'd give this one a 9/10 I'd have to give Floor's version a full 10.

The best version, the original. The revamp rocky version with Floor is ok but this is what Nightwish was really the difference from other metal bands. The song as the lyrics say should be more smooth, ethereal, romantic, mystical. The GLS of Wacken is too aggressive for me.

This was kind in the middle of the set I saw two shows from this tour and this song was absolutely fantastic. This is coming from someone who is a huge Tarja fan. Have been to her solo concert and will go again, and yes have seen her with Nightwish as well. That being said, Floor has completely stolen this song from Tarja. There are a few songs where I feel this way I (think) this might be because of the direction this album had taken for suits Floor voice than Tarja´s. When it comes to the first three albums, it has such distinct sound that suits Tarja´s voice (according to me) a lot better than Floor's. Century child and especially Once is much more cinematic and more score-focused.

Ok, he was happy found Floor, big deal. He was also happy when he found Anette, so your point doesn't stand. Also, YOU aren't Tuomas, you don't know HIS taste. Also, if it wasnt for Tarja, Nightwish wouldn't be as big as it is. If Anette wasnt good, they wouldn't be as big in US. Floor came at the perfect time of tour and fanbase division. @@geertjanssen8455 I've listened to this GLS with Tarja several times and the band seems so much louder compared to her vocals and especially when you compare it to the Wacken version. Floor's vocals volume wise stand pretty much equal. Now this might be placed on the sound mixer but that's what I hear. Yes, I realize there are people very attached to Tarja' voice, especially those that grew up with her. I don't have to deal with that influence. I saw Floor first on Beste Zangers and it took me awhile to even submit to listening to her with Nw. Now, the Wacken GLS is the best live performance I've ever heard, and I'm still not a Nw "fan". For me, Floor is the most talented and master of her instrument I've ever heard. She not my favorite singer currently either (Haley Reinhart holds my vocal heart there). She was the best thing to happen for Nw, imo.
