Monthly increases do get taken away immediately as rentals go up and SNAP goes down or gets taken away. It doesn't help at all with inflation so high. Only stimulus checks with no strings attached help. That's the only way these people can catch up bills and stock up on food. I wonder if anyone in government has ever been hungry? You get terrible headaches, stomach pain, get shaky, get nervous, and weak and eventually stumble around. Now so many are being told by thier doctors that they are malnourished!! This is a disgrace. Even people with a small retirement plus SS are hurting , plus they don't qualify for any assistance programs. The inflation has wiped out the ability to live on the income. Millions are suffering in ways people in our government can not comprehend!! How can our government use our tax revenue to support millions of illegals, people in other countries and waste money on unneeded things and not even think about helping the legal American citizens that really need help ???

As high priced as food has gone up , it would be so wrong for the government to snatch the extra $95.00 on our snap benefits .I am barely able to get enough food to last a entire month as it is. So if I lost that extra snap benefits I wouldn't be able to buy very much at all I receive 152.00 regular benefits. Prices are too high . I can't buy enough food forna month on $ 152.00. If you have never had to dumpster dive please don't make a joke of it. I was homeless at one point in my life and had to dumpster dive for food. It is quite embarrassing and humiliating, but I needed to survive.

Charlene. I never did it for food but I did it for other stuff. Made enough money to finance a move by having a yard sale. And I was working at a good job and my husband was working and we still did it. You can also go to Goodwill, pick up all kinds of stuff, then sell on EBay. We have a Goodwill collection center. I got 2 rugs from there because those cost too much to be shipped. There is also a second hand shop here that a lady that has money gives to. Got some great silverware. My son once boasted that there was nothing over $100.00 in the house. That is how I got into rentals. Never bought many clothes or furniture. Nobody gave me anything. Apartments are great places to look because they don't have room to keep a bunch of stuff. There are all kinds of ways to make money. My renter on SS goes scrapping. He has all kinds of crap in the yard that he sells. Both are on disability. They get most of their rent paid by the government. You got to hustle if you're not rich.

I am on ssdi & a mother of adult son ssi who lives with me. We pay full rent,gas,electric,fuel,car repairs,water,trash& eat. We are following behind rent! Their are days I will not eat so my son can.
