"And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day." 2 Thessalonians 7-10

Questions: 1. Why did Paul follow the sacrificial laws around unbelieving Jews when he knew it was a sin to do so? 2. Did Yeshua ever stop keeping Torah laws when he was around gentiles to win them over to the faith? 3. Why did Paul use deception against his unbelieving Jewish brothers to win them over to the faith? 4. While Jesus was on the earth, did he ever condone his disciples using deception to win people over to the faith? 5. When Jesus left the earth, did he ever condone or promote the use of deception by his followers to win people over to the faith? 6. Does Jesus presently condone or promote the use of deception by his followers to win people over to the faith? 7. Did Jesus teach Paul how to use deception to win Jews over to the faith? 8. Is deception a tool of Satan or Jesus? 9. Is there any darkness in Jesus or his father?

All these points your making are coming from a false assumption that Paul is teaching deception.

Really late to your questions but I can't be sure if you've ever felt them adequately answered. 1) Continuing that chapter, Paul makes it clear that he is bound by none of these things he is free in Christ. So long as you maintain your faith is in Jesus and not the law there is no issue. 2) "it is not what goes into a man which defiles him but what comes out" Unclean foods just got God's seal of approval so there's an example of Jesus altering Torah. Another example you can find is strictly OT, humans weren't allowed to eat animals at all for a long long time. 3) It's not Deception, he maintains the two key commandments. I find it incredibly unlikely that he would ever if asked denounce Jesus. 4) No he doesn't, quite the opposite, Jesus tells us never to swear by anything because our words should always be true so there is no need. And regarding the rest of your questions the answer is a resounding "NO".

@@williamhoneycutt8868the 2 key commandments you mentioned were love others and love God right?

@@unknown_4176 Correct, Matthew 22:37-40. But also, that's not The Gospel, that's the summary of the law. The Gospel is freedom from the law by faith in the blood of Christ. Which is why Paul can follow Jewish law and not sin, he only does it to evangelize and have manners and because it is good (Romans 7). Not because he has any faith in the law. Also... read Romans Chapters 6-8 if you think I or Paul is saying there is a license to sin because of the blood of the lamb.

@@williamhoneycutt8868 so what you're basically saying is that we should follow the law, but our faith should be in Jesus and not the law?

This is a prime example of using deception to bring people to the "truth". And it is justified because deceiving people who you believe are believing in the wrong beliefs into believing Christianity because it is "true" makes it okay because you are lying to save someone, therefore lying is okay.

I have a need regarding these verses with the desperate hope of godly counsel. Question: How would *you* respond to a biblically authoritative entity who interprets this scripture in such a way as to believe that open display of occult tattoos on a pastor is a means given by the Holy Spirit to win the souls of people who also openly display occult tattoos? -- Their being a stated biblical authority is my difficulty. I know he/they are doctrinally wrong, but whether to take the time to correct him/them is what's exasperating me. There are many false teachers and correcting them is time-consuming and exhausting. -- Do *you* personally take the time to correct people who should know better, given their position, and whose $$income$$ depends on them *not* admitting error? I deal with this a lot and am feeling worn down. Whatever biblical direction you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Following is the exchange between myself and the authoritative entity: +++ Answer:

Paul wasn't teaching to pretend to be somebody your not. To the Jew I was a Jew. Paul was a Jew, he wasn't pretending. He did not say to the Gentile I became like a Gentile. It would be deceptive pretending to be somebody your not.
